Location: Kymos Hold

Theeressa woke with a start and gulped as she shot up and winced at the pain that went through her body from shifting too quickly when she was still healing. She shook her head as she realised she was in her bed, at Kymos and not at Dragon Hold hiding as she had been in her dream. She clutched the sheet to her chest as she looked around the bedroom and frowned as she realised that Riklan was not in bed. Slowly she got up shifting to the cot and paled as she realised that Kasa was not there either. She slowly opened the bedroom door and could hear soft noises below in the living area.

Riklan found himself waking to the soft sounds of Kasa in her crib. He quietly slipped out of bed, not wanting to disturb Theeressa as he knew she needed her rest. He smiled down at his youngest daughter and lifted her into his arms.

“Alright Kas, let's let momma rest,” he whispered, carrying the baby downstairs.

Theeressa blinked several times as she stepped down the stairs, hearing the noises. She smiled at her husband, who was sitting there whispering to their daughter, who was wide awake but not hungry or anything. “You both left me?” she finally whispered.

Riklan looked up quickly as he snuggled their daughter close. Laressa was still asleep but he figured she would be up soon. “Hey beautiful. No, we just figured you could use the sleep,” he smiled.

“Yet here I am.” She said quietly walked over to them snuggling against his side. She loved it when he called her beautiful, it made her stomach tingle and reminded her why she chose him. She lay her head against his shoulder just enjoying the feeling and the way his mere presence drowned the remnants of her nightmare away.

“I hope we didn't wake you,” he said as she snuggled against him. He couldn't imagine being anywhere else. He had a family he wasn't sure he ever would. “Little Kasa was fussing around so I thought I'd get up with her.”

“No, a dream did and then I worried when neither of you was there.” She assured leaning over to caress Kasa’s cheek as she had her eyes firmly on her father. She loved the fact that Riklan was so hands on. It was something she had not expected when she had seen how men had acted at Dragon Hold. “I think she is just awake. She doesn’t look hungry especially as she was only up a couple of candlemarks ago.”

“Oh no. I am sorry we weren't there. If I had realized.” He never wanted her worrying again. She was safe now. He laughed a bit as he looked down at Kasa. “Really little one? You had mommy up already?”

“Just before dawn, I think. It was a very sleepy feed for both of us.” She had not even got out of bed to do it as Kassa had not been unsettled just hungry. It was light a glow had been switched on in her head the last couple of days and she was sleeping less and nore alert.

“Shards little one, that is early,” he told his daughter. “Are you sure you don't need more sleep?” He asked Theeressa. “I'm sure Lars is gonna be up soon too.” He didn't want her getting sick.

“No, I am okay. I actually went to bed with the children last night as I was tired so I am awake and all ready to face the day. But thank you.” Theeressa was sure she would be okay as she was not tired just shaken.

Riklan nodded. If she said she was okay then he believed her. He leaned over enough to kiss her hair. “You feeling okay today?” He asked as he played with Kasa’s tiny fingers.

“I am all recovered from the over doing it at the gather.” She assured quietly. She knew she had over done it trying to be the best hostess and wife and with the added extra of Leisa showing it up it had knocked her. It most likely explained the dreams but she did feel okay. “I have my final healer appointment this afternoon as does this little one. We both hopefully get all signed off.”

He gave her a smile. “I am glad to hear that. You definitely overdid it. But it turned out lovely and everyone enjoyed themselves.” Riklan nodded as he listened. “Ah nice. Do you want me to come? my rounds are light today,” he offered.

Of course Theeressa overdid it, she always over did it but that was in her mind she still had so much left to prove to people. “If you finish on time, sure but don't worry if you cannot be there. I know my way.” She assured smiling back at him. She was fully able to go see a master healer and get herself and Kasa signed off healthy if they really were.

Riklan should have expected that response. “Alright. I'll see where my rounds end up today,” he smiled. “And I have no doubt you know your way.” Riklan just liked being there with her.

“Been there a few too many times.” She sighed softly snuggling against his shoulder as she watched their daughter. “How did we make such perfect children?” She asked quietly, looking at the baby as she gripped Riklan’s finger.

“Yeah let's try to keep those visits few and far between. I don't like when you have to go see the healers. Unless it's me,” he teased with a smile. Riklan shook his head. “I don't know. I am far from perfect but I think our little ones take after you.”

“You are my favourite healer followed closely by Nikolai and Terliyn.” She teased a little back, smiling too. “You are perfect Rik. You might not have chosen this life but I chose you.” The woman said quietly, throwing her loosen braid over her shoulder.

He chuckled a bit. “I'll take it,” he grinned. “They are both great healers but not as good as me,” he teased. It felt good to be able to tease like this. “I wouldn't want my life any other way. I love you and our girls to pieces.”

Theeressa smiled as he declared himself a better healer. The woman could not deny that he had helped her through labour better than Terilyn bjt also the girl had never helped anyone in labour before so she could not judge. “I know you wouldn’t Rik. I am glad I am what you wanted.” She assured slowly getting up thinking of starting breakfast and all the other things she had to do to start the day.

Riklan grinned. He loved his little family and he was determined to keep them safe and happy no matter what. He raised a brow as she got up. “You have made my life complete,” he answered. “And do you need help with anything?”

“No you have the little one so I can set about doing all the things I normally do without her against my chest. Klah?” She wondered as she started gathering items to her breakfast. She smiled at how easy he declared things like that to her since the realisation came out that Sophida was indeep with Dragon Hold and it was why they were being targeted so personally.

He knew better than to argue. Plus he was actually quite content holding little Kasa. “Klah sounds great. I didn't make it around to really doing anything yet. Been a little distracted,” he grinned. the girls were a good distraction. And after what he and Theeressa had been through he was happy to be here.

“Don’t you worry.” The woman assured quietly as she started to stove, having started to prepare it the previous night. It would not take long to do all of it as it was all prepared.

“Thank you,” Riklan said. It always amazed him how prepared she was. He turned his attention back to Kasa who was making happy sounds.

It was not long until both of them had a steaming mug of klah and little footsteps were approaching from above coming down the stairs slowly. “Someone is awake.” Theeressa commented smiling as Laressa appeared in the doorway looking tired and confused that everyone was awake.

Riklan sipped on his klah while Kasa laid in his lap contentedly. He chuckled when Laressa finally showed her face. “Morning kiddo,” he told her.

The little girl smiled and walked over to the sofa cuddling up with him looking at her baby sister intrigued that she was awake and not screaming. “Hello sweetheart.” Theeressa greeted moving over to kiss her forehead.

He moved his arm enough so Laressa could snuggle against him. Thankfully Kasa still content at the moment too. “Sleep well?” He asked his daughter.

“Mmmhmm… I came to snuggle and evertone was up.” Laressa complained making Theeressa laugh a little. The little girl was so affectionate.

“We can snuggle after breakfast little one if you still want to with all of us.”

Riklan smiled. “we can definitely cuddle after breakfast.” He loved his family.
