Mission:
3531 AL
Location: River Cove Weyr
Timeline: m2 d29
With the time difference from Kymos and River Cove Weyr it meant that Calarya was sat on the beach staring at another beautiful sunset. The difference between that one and the one across was it was across the sea instead of the jungle and the sky was beautiful shades that made her wish she was an artist. She glanced to G’van and smiled at the expression on his face.
“Beautiful sun set.” She whispered, picking up a meat roll from the food they had grabbed. “I do not think I could ever get bored of watching the sunset.”
G'van had to admit, this was a whole lot nicer than being at the Gather. It had a while since he had just gotten to spend quality time like this with Calarya and they couldn't have asked for a prettier evening.
“It is gorgeous,” he agreed, propping himself up on his elbows. “It never ceases to amaze me.”
“Even after all the sunsets I’ve watched from here it still surprises me every now and then.” She admitted thinking of all the sunsets she’d watched and how many times she had seen the fire lizards murmuration it always amazed her that they came there. Maybe it was because of a large group of people but it was amazing to see.
He nodded in agreement. “Each one is so much different,” he answered. The sunsets were always changing and left him in awe. “Company tonight is exceptionally pretty too,” he grinned.
“Not often you see me dress up that is why.” She teased leaning over caressing his shoulder. She did not often wear clothes like the dress preferring her flight gear or at a push some slightly looser clothing but still nothing compared to the tightness of her dark green dress.
He grinned at his mate. “True but I think you're beautiful no matter what you're wearing.” The gorgeous dress only added to her beauty.
“And this is why I keep you around G’van.” She laughed wishing that she was more like him sometimes. She was way more fiery and bossy whilst he was calm and healed everything in her sometimes.
G'van laughed a bit. “Glad I could help,” he grinned. He pushed himself up so he could move closer to her. “I like hearing you laugh.”
“Not been doing much of that recently thanks to stressing over the gather and Leith’s flight.” She sighed, rubbing her eyes before smiling down at him shifting closer.
“But you can laugh now,” he said gently, touching her knee. “Both are over and you have survived them,” he smiled. G'van knew she had been under a lot of stress.
“I did thanks to you.” She murmured gently, putting her hand over his and squeezing softly. “What about you? What have you been worrying about?” She wondered. They had not spoken like this in a long time.
He returned her gentle squeeze. “You mainly,” he admitted. “I knew how you had been feeling but I didn't know how to help.” It hadn't surprised him when he had to take her away from the Gather.
Calarya rolled her eyes and shook her head. “I am sorry for that.” She sighed, wishing the guilt she felt over that had not seeped into her words but they did. “I tried.” She really had tried to put it behind her but all she could think of was that moment where she had been shot with an arrow and had seen her life flashing before her eyes.
G'van shook his head. “Don’t be sorry. It's a normal reaction. I mean come on. I'm still terrified of runners,” he pointed out gently. There were some things that were hard to get through.
“I suppose.” She realised softly thinking that they all had trauma but hers was directly related to a location. She hated going anywhere near Kymos but at least threadfull she was with Leith.
He turned on his side to be able to see her better. “Wanna talk about it?” He offered gently. He knew this was still hard on her. Sometimes talking helped and sometimes it didn't.
The woman took a deep gulp of her wine before putting it down in the sand. “Not overly G’van. It’s not that I do not want to, I just feel like after 7 turns I should feel better.” She shrugged, lying back on the blanket looking at him.
He nodded, completely understanding. He wouldn't push that topic as he didn't want to ruin their nice evening. “Hey now, it was a scary time. It may be something that always plagues you a little bit unfortunately,” he said.
“It might but I do feel better since I saw the place burn.” Calarya said gently. She shrugged. “Can we just agree that I don’t have to go to Kymos? You can go but I can't?” She wondered in a vulnerable voice as she tried to put her thoughts into words.
}: We do not have to go there ever again. :{ Leith assured quietly.
G'van nodded. “I can agree to that,” he answered. There really wasn't any reason she should have to go to Kymos. And if he did for some reason he would do it himself. He completely understood .
“I have no issue going there and burning thread from the sky but I do not want to step onto the ground.” The ground was not safe for her, the ground was where she got hurt.
The brown rider nodded. “I understand. No picnics at Kymos,” he smiled. He would help anyway he could.
“We don’t really go for picnics anyway.” The woman laughed a little finding herself smiling now that he was trying desperately to cheer her up and it was working.
“Maybe we should try more picnics,” he suggested with a grin. He was enjoying this impromptu picnic.
“Are you trying to find ways to … court me?” She asked raising an eyebrow at the notion but also finding her stomach fluttering at the prospect of it.
G'van flashed her a smile. “Does that bother you?” He asked. He would like to. he had been holder born after all and he wanted to make Calarya feel special.
Calarya smiled back confused. She had never been courted and after seven turns she was not sure how she knew how. “Not bother. Surprises me but never bothers me.” She was not sure if he knew how to bother her in the slightest. He had never caused her any distress.
“Gotta keep my girl happy,” he smiled, laying back on his back again. He would gladly court her and continue to make sure she was happy for the rest of his life.
Calarya shook her head and lay back looking up at the fire lizards and the final moments of their murmuration. “You have never done anything to make me unhappy brown rider.” She reminded him hopefully.
He turned to look over at her, his eyes dancing. “I try not to but I still want to keep you happy,” he assured her. he watched the stars above them, very content.
“Such a holder deep down G’van.” She sighed happily. This was so much better than a gather in her opinion. Maybe the next one she would feel better as it was not at Kymos but Far Site towards the end of the winter season for the south which was not that much different it just got a little wetter .
G'van laughed a bit. “Guilty,” he agreed. It was a hard thing to give up even after all these Turns. He closed his eyes briefly. He was enjoying this a lot. It was peaceful and he got spend the time with the love of his life.
