Senabena narrowed her eyes and grinned as she watched Rena and Bensen separate before she stepped up behind him and poked his shoulder. She waited until he turned around before she put her hands on her hips.

“Got married and did not grab me to come, and see?” She demanded smiling knowing full well that it was the spur of the moment thing but she would have liked to see if seeing she had been so involved up to that point.

Bensen watched Rena walk away, a smile on his face. He spun around as he got poked in the shoulder.

“Oh, Sen,” he said, feeling very flustered. “I am sorry. I should have found you.” He felt awful but at the time he had just been thinking about finding his parents. It had all happened so fast.

“I spent all day helping and you did not let me see it all come together.” She folded her arms. She might look a little cross but her eyes had a glint that kept him knowing that she was only a little upset. “It is like we are children again and you and Nabon left me out as I was too young,”

He cringed a bit. “I never had any intentions of that.” He felt awful. “It was kind of a joke between Rena and me and when a harper actually offered well, it just sort of happened.”

“Unbelievable. Why cannot I just fall into a marriage like that.” She shook her head, grabbing a glass of wine from a server. She glanced at him and purposely but did not get him one. “You need to stay sober.” She rolled her eyes a little as she surveyed the grand hall.

It had certainly been easy. Well, if one did not count the loss of their brother. “It will happen.” Bensen raised a brow at his sister. “And why do you say that?” He asked innocently.

“Because you need to keep your wits about you for whatever married people do.” She commented with a roll of her eyes. She was 18 but she was not unwise to the world and what happened despite her family’s attempts to keep her sweet and innocent.

Bensen groaned. “Oh, that just isn't right coming from my baby sister,” he shuttered. He knew she was growing up, but it still felt very odd. Of course, saying he was married felt odd too.

“I am a beastcrafter just like you Ben.” She laughed at the look on his face. “I can go get Enabon if you want? He is just as cross at missing it as I am.” She smirked. She

She had a point. He knew she did. It still felt awkward though. “Please don't,” Bensen groaned. “I'm sorry, okay?”

“Oh, I know. You took the opportunity and I am proud of you for doing it.” She assured grinning at him and nudged him showing that there . “Happy?” She wondered seeing Rena talking to Enabon and her father.

It was true. They had both seen the opportunity and taken it. Bensen grinned. “Very happy and still a bit in shock.”

Senabena could see the shock on his face and could not blame him. She knew he was in love with Rena but he had never done anything with them. “Course you are. You were single this morning, now you are a husband and have step children.” She laughed holding out the drink she had not even started. “Thinking about it, you might need this more than me.”

Bensen shook his head a bit. Very true. His life had changed in the blink of an eye. All for the good of course. “Shards,” he whispered before accepting the drink.

Senabena laughed. She was pretty sure it had just hit him there and then. “Are you okay Ben?” She whispered. He never did anything without thinking carefully but she was still worried about him still. He was the best of her brothers and she needed him to be okay.

Bensen nodded. “Yeah, I'm okay,” he assured his sister. “A little overwhelmed but happy.” He had a family. That would take a little adjustment but he already loved Brenna and Rena was his best friend.

She raised an eyebrow at Bensen. She had never seen him overwhelmed before. “Good. Maybe take some time for yourself?” She suggested. “Go for a walk?”

“That might not be a bad idea,” he agreed. Bensen had never felt this way before. He had people relying on him now.

“Come on, you can escort me to my bed as mother is giving me that look and that gives you the excuse and does not give it away.” Senabena indicated where she could see her mother pointedly looking in her direction. “It is not that late, is it?”

“Thanks Sen,” he breathed. He owed his little sister. He followed her gaze. “Huh I had not thought it was that late. Must be later than we both thought,” he answered, seeing the look on his mother's face.

“One day I will get to enjoy a gather till the end.” She laughed and shrugged. It was not a bad thing when they were to be leaving tomorrow morning. Senabena wanted to be home early to get out on her runner before the evening meal so being rested after the day, they had all experienced was not a bad thing. She just did not want her mother knowing that. “Come on then Ben.” She sighed making a show of her pretend reluctance.

“You’re not missing anything,” he assured her. Turning in early sounded good. When they got home, things started to change. “After you, milady,” Bensen flourished with a bow.

“Says the man who will eventually come back to dance with his wife and have a fun time.” She teased, grinning at him. The teenager rolled her eyes but smiled as they got out of the main area and started down the maze of corridors and up the stairs.

Bensen chuckled a bit. “Okay, got me there,” he grinned. It would be nice to get away for a little bit, though. He needed a minute to clear his head and get things sorted out again.

Senabena just grinned at the man and settled into silence as they walked. She thought that he might need it and she might be blunt but she was a little more emotionally savvy than a lot of her family.

Bensen was grateful for the quiet and the company. He was really going to have to make it up to Senabena for not making sure she was there. Especially with how much she had helped him.

Senabena let out a yawn as they got to her chamber and she opened her door and looked inside to check that a fire was lit and sighed as her lady’s maid appeared down the corridor. “Mother must have woken you, apologies Geena.” Senabena rolled her eyes, turning to her brother. ”So, what are you going to do now?” She wondered

He stopped beside her. “I think I'm going to walk around a bit more, then go find Rena,” Bensen answered. He felt better. He just wanted a few more moments before he had to join everyone.

“Okay. Stay out of trouble, okay? No more excitement.” She requested as she glanced at the maid waiting patiently for her to come inside properly so that she could get her hair out of the elaborate style.

Bensen chuckled. “I'll try not to,” he promised. He was pretty sure he was done with all the excitement. He was not sure he could handle any more. “Sleep well, Sen. And thank you for everything. “

She did not want to threaten that he should really avoid doing it if it would fall on deaf ears. He did what he wanted. “Anytime, big brother.” She called as she closed the door behind him. Despite missing the final part, she was feeling proud of herself.
