S’ven strode back into the tavern and saw both women sitting where he had last seen them. He took a calming, slow breath and slid in next to Kelsa. The female blue rider looked up, surprised, as he appeared just as they were about to go looking for him. Malearee looked him over; he looked better than he had when he had left.

"You good?" she wondered, glancing at Kelsa.

"Sorry I ran off," he whispered, leaning in to kiss her cheek softly, feeling ashamed that he had upped and left whilst distracting her. "Thank you, Mal, for staying with her."

Kelsa's eyes widened in surprise when S'ven sat down. She had thought they would have to go looking for him. She turned to face him slightly as he spoke, before he kissed her cheek.

"You're here. That's what matters," she answered softly, silently thanking Mal.

"We have left you some wine," Malearee commented, pouring him a mug before she stood. "I will see you both later." She suddenly had an idea where she could have some fun. S’ven took the mug and sipped on it a little.

"No, it is not what matters. I love you and I want you as my mate and everything that entails," he blurted out before he could back down. "Ciy's appearance made me feel like I was worthless again, like I was that confused weyrling again."

"Thanks, Mal. It was nice spending some time with you." She had enjoyed the talk, but she was glad S'ven was back. Kelsa sipped on her wine while S'ven spoke up.

"I love you too, blue rider. And I would love to be your mate," she assured him. Kelsa nodded slowly as she reached out to brush her fingertips across his cheek. "I know she played a big part in your life for a while. I am sorry though that you had to go through that again. You are perfect the way you are to me," she assured him.

"I am just relieved that you see the venom from her now and that it was not all in my head," he admitted awkwardly. He had convinced himself sometimes that it was all his fault for being weak or not wanting the same things.

"No, she is a very cruel person," Kelsa agreed. The other woman certainly had no problem making people feel small. "You are very sane," she promised, kissing his cheek.

He turned to catch her in a kiss before sighing, content that things were slipping back into place. He leaned his head against hers. "I am glad to hear that. I also did not want children with her because I knew she was not healthy. I did not run a mile, I merely suggested..." he added, needing to say the final thing that he had to get off his chest.

She giggled against his lips before giving in to him fully. Shards, she loved the crazy blue rider. "Oh, well that makes sense," she whispered. She was sure S'ven wouldn't have wanted Ciy injured. "Ah, okay," she answered.

"I cared too much," he shrugged, brushing a light kiss to her lips before he turned back to savour the wine. He never wanted to feel that low again — it had hurt too much to try and work back up.

Kelsa reached out to squeeze his hand. "S'ven, you can never care too much. She didn't know what she was missing," Kelsa smiled, wanting him to realise he was special.

He raised an eyebrow at her statement about caring too much. He was not sure that was correct but he nodded. "I am glad you picked me up and loved me until I could love myself again," he murmured, squeezing her hand back.

"I will love you till the ends of Pern," she smiled, shifting a bit closer to him. She couldn't imagine her life without S'ven in it.

S’ven raised an eyebrow, surprised at her declaration, and for a second it looked like he might cry before he shook his head. "As do I, Green Rider," he said, caressing her cheek softly. He loved everything about her. "I am so sorry it took me so long to be better — to love you how you deserve it, Kels."

Kelsa couldn't be happier. They were finally where they wanted to be. "It's okay. I have all the time in the world to wait for you," she assured him. She just wanted to be with him.

"No. You do not deserve to be waiting." He did not want to treat her that way. She was too good to be treated like that. "So, my lady, you get to decide whose weyr," he said softly, looking deeply into her eyes.

Kelsa really hadn't minded waiting. She hadn’t doubted he would come around. He had just needed time. "I didn't mind," she assured him before grinning. "Ooh, I'm going to have to think about that one."

He stayed silent as she contemplated the choice he had given her, sipping his wine. He just wanted to relax for a little bit and enjoy the buzz of admitting how he felt.

The green rider sipped her own wine. She wasn't going to make a hasty decision. They both had nice weyrs and she was comfortable in either one.

"So, what do you want to do after we finish this skin?" he finally asked, a grin on his face, as he took several gulps. The silence was comfortable, but he wondered what she wanted to do now.

"Can we walk around the Gather some?" she asked. "I'd love to visit some of the vendors." She loved jewellery and wondered if she could find a nice piece while here.

"I would like that," he assured her quickly. He wondered if he could find some items from the vendors himself, as he needed a new belt and he wanted to get her a birthingday present if he could distract her a little to arrange it.

Kelsa smiled brightly. She would have gone back to the Weyr if it meant being with him, but she really wanted to walk around and explore. There was so much to see.

"Well, drink up and we shall go walk the Gather, my lady," he said, pouring the remains of the skin into their mugs to finish it off. He was not in a rush, but he wanted her to know that he was ready when she was, to get back out into the sunshine instead of hiding away in the tavern.

"Sounds perfect," she answered cheerily. She was so glad he was feeling better. She didn't know what had happened to him while he had been away from them, but he seemed truly better now, and for that she was grateful. She sipped her wine, feeling quite content.
