Posted on Thu Nov 6th, 2025 @ 9:52pm by Gold Rider Lana & Bronze Rider K'ron

Mission: 3531 AL
Location: High Reaches
Timeline: M3 D20

K'ron had volunteered to get klah and porridge in the morning so Lana and V'ros could spend extra time in the hides. There was no sense in all three tromping to the Dining Cavern just to leave again. Tyreth looked down from his borrowed ledge while Koda sat on K'ron's shoulder, waiting to beg for breakfast.

The bronze rider stepped inside, smiling a bit. even at a different Weyr the dining cavern still looked the same. K'ron quietly stepped around the tables to reach the food line. Before he got far though, someone pushed out of the table, colliding with K'ron and covering them both in klah and porridge.

“I am so sorry,” K'ron apologized as Koda flitted into the air to avoid the collision. “Are you okay?”

Riana had seen the collision a second before it had happened and knew it would not be pretty. T’han was highly strung more than usual, the former Weyrwoman had been his lover and he had been feeling it over the last couple of months taking everything as a slight. The man turned covered in porridge and instantly grabbed up his dagger. Riana stood as several other people stood as well but Riana was the only one who made her way through the crowds.

“One of the southerners hmm? You have been walking around like you own the joint bringing a gold rider of age here.” T’han spat.

K'ron's eyes widened when he saw the dagger. They definitely weren't in River Cove anymore. The wing leader held up his hands in peace. “We mean no such thing. Our Weyrwoman had spoken with your Weyrleader about looking at old hides. All I did was come for some klah. We'll be gone today,” he promised, trying to talk his way out of trouble. He didn't need anything bad happening.

Koda screeched in warning as K'ron watched T'han. The man looked half crazed.

Riana pushed through the crowd already getting Eillith to contact Kalaith revealing that she was here. She could hear the familiar bellow of a Queen challenging a dragon but it soon fell silent. “Stop this.” Riana yelled but T’han swept her back knocking her to the floor despite her obvious pregnant state.

“Stay out of this green rider.” The bronze rider spat to Riana who instantly scurried back to her feet with a brown rider pulling her to her feet. “This is between me and the southerner who can’t keep his tray to himself.”

“You knocked him over.” A blue rider commented which just made the bronze rider angrier.

K'ron was shocked to see Riana there. She looked good though and pregnant. Good for her. His blood boiled though when T'han knocked her to the ground. “Hey!” He growled. “Don't touch her. What kind of man are you to shove a pregnant woman?” He growled, stepping toward T'han. “I did apologize for what happened. I can't change what happened so why don't you just step back?”

“K’ron just walk away.” Riana said quickly.

“Shut up. You little whore.” The bronze rider said but that made several people uncomfortable even if it didn’t make Riana react.

K'ron wasn't one for confrontation but he also didn't like how this bronze rider was acting. He would have listened to Riana's suggestion except for the next words out of the bronze rider's mouth. That just did it.

“Step down, bronze rider,” K'ron warned, stepping between Riana and T'han. “This is not the way to handle things.”

“K’ron… just walk away. I am not explaining this to Nerlyn,” Riana pleaded as the man dived forward dagger raised. Riana let out a gasp and pushed K’ron to the side as she moved with him. She was not going to explain to Nerlyn if they were still together what happened.

Koda shrieked in anger as K'ron was knocked sideways by Riana. A hiss escaped his lips as he pushed back to his feet, his adrenaline kicking in and keeping him from noticing the start of blood on his shoulder. Koda raked his claws along T'han's face.

“Enough,” K'ron growled, his own knife now in his hand.

“Stupid flit.” T’han battered the brown firelizard away as several roars reverating around the cavern but the bronze rider did not care as he grabbed up the older bronze rider and attempted to stab out again.

“Move it.” Lana yelled as she ran into the cavern as another roar sounded from Kalaith. Lana pushed her way through the crowd. “Enough!” She stepped into the space and everyone went silent.

*** Get them all back to breakfast or gone.*** Lana stated clearly to the queen who passed it on to all the Dragons. She stomped up to T’han who had froze confronted by a Queen Rider. V’ros stood next to her.

“You touch either of them again and I will drag you to the weyrling barracks and leave you there.” V’ros assured glancing to K’ron.

Koda was knocked for a loop but was able to right himself just before the knife slid cleanly into the gash K'ron already had on his shoulder, leaving his left arm completely useless. Koda dived at the other man again as K'ron shoved him back.

Tyreth was growling outside, only being kept calm thanks to Kalaith. His rider was hurt.

K'ron shook his head as he staggered a step, forcing himself to stay on his feet. Laliy ran in just as Lana got everyone stopped. Micayith had informed her of what was going on. S'cir was a fee steps behind her.

“What happened?” The young gold rider asked.

“A one sided dual Weyrwoman.” Riana said, making Lana and V’ros turn to the woman that had not seen in 2 turns.

“Nice to see you again Riana. Weyrleader care to explain why one of your riders is shaking with mine over porridge according to Kalaith.” Lana commented as she still stood there staring at the bronze rider before she noticed the blood on the dagger. “Oh no…” she turned to see the blood seeping out and instantly pressed her hand to wound.

Laliy stared in disbelief. “Seriously?” That wasn't how riders acted. She looked at S'cir, not sure what happened now.

S'cir opened his mouth to answer but frowned as he saw Lana run to her rider. He turned to T'han. “You, my office now,” he growled, not at all impressed.

K'ron hissed through his teeth as Lana pressed against his shoulder. Koda flitted over to Riana and sat on her shoulder, still hissing at T'han. “Ow,” K'ron whispered against the pressure on his shoulder. His face was going white as he closed his eyes.

T’han looked murderous but said nothing g as he pushed passed V’ros allowing. The man to finally concentrate on the injured bronze rider as several women of the lower cavern started to rush over bringing things to help the situation. Lana set about stemming the blood as she finally got the man to slump into a chair.

“V’ros get him back to River Cove and send several other riders here but not V’lik for love of tiny dragonets.” Lana whispered to V’ros as Lana took off her flight jacket to cover him. She did not trust anyone there right now even healers.

“But..”

“You wanna tell Nerlyn he is dead?” Lana muttered.

“What can I do?” Laliy offered. This was partly her fault. If she had been older or Micayith had been then they could have stopped this.

Koda chattered worriedly from Riana's arms. The poor little brown didn't know what to do as Tyreth was still throwing a bit of a fuss too. Kaliath was helping there at least.

“I'm not…dying,” K'ron gritted, clenching his uninjured hand. “Can't leave…you here…alone,” he tried to argue. Not if the riders were anything like T'han had been. He did not want their Weyrwoman staying there alone. “Can Kal…call Zar?” He asked, his breathing a bit labored.

“I have given you an order.” Lana said, hauling him to his feet letting V’ros take him. “I do not want A’ren coming here when the situation is already dire.”

“Come on.” V’ros said wrapping an arm around the younger man to help him as Lana turned to the weyrling queen. “Walk them to their dragons.” Lana instructed turning to walk away before she looked at the Laily. “Please … and then arrange wine to be brought to the Weyrleaders Office when you come.”

“I can sort that Weyrwoman.” The head woman quickly said to the weyrling.

K'ron swayed as she hauled him to his feet. He wanted to argue more, but his strength was fading. His shirt was already blood soaked and he was starting to shake under Lana’s added jacket.

Laliy was pale and wide eyed as she watched. She then turned to Lana. “Of course Weyrwoman,” she answered, nodding to the head woman. “Consider it done.”

Lana nodded at the girl as she strode off covered in blood to the Weyrleaders office. She was angry beyond belief.

“Come on.” V’ros instructed going against everything that A’ren had told him to save K’ron’s life. Soon V’ros had K’ron in front of him positioned on Naedeth as Tyreth watched on urgent to help his rider.

K'ron was fading fast. He was barely able to help V'ros as he tried to climb on Naedeth. Tyreth was shifting unhappily, not liking the pain in his rider's mind. “Can't….leave…her,” he coughed, his shoulders sagging.

“Go back and make sure my Weyrwoman is safe please.” The man requested as the two bronze rider took off and blinked between.

Laliy nodded. “I will,” she promised, stepping back. Shards she needed help to be a Weyrwoman. She quickly spun on a heel and raced to S'cir's office.
