Mission: 3531 AL
Timeline: M4 D07

Kelsa sat on one of the docks, dangling her feet in the water. Vyiath was happily splashing around in the water with the dolphins around her. Kelsa was glad her beautiful green hadn't picked up on her uncertainties. Since the Gather things had been a bit strained between her and S'ven. What she wouldn't give to go back and keep that awful woman away from S'ven. Unfortunately she couldn't change that so she would just have to tread lightly as they got back on solid footing.

S’ven knew he was late but could not exactly tell G’len that he couldn’t stay to help as wing third. Dareth’s wings strained to try and make up time but as soon as he saw the ocean he dived for it. “No Dar. Don’t you dar…” But it was too late and the blue sunk himself and S’ven into the ocean.

Vyiath craned her head around at the splash and bugled happily to her mate, swishing her tail through the water.

Kelsa looked up quickly, starting to laugh uncontrollably as Dareth dunked both himself and his rider into the water. She had a feeling S'ven wouldn't appreciate the humor so much though.

“You absolute idiot.” S’ven gasped as he finally came to the surface with the blue bugling his happiness back to the small green. “You should have let me off first.” The rider said splashing the blue as he swam towards the dock and hauled himself off exhausted.

Vyiath returned her mate's bugle. Kelsa shifted to help S'ven up on the dock. “Little wet?” She asked, still trying not to laugh. She did feel bad for him.

}: You needed to cool down and temper that anger :{ the blue muttered blowing bubbles.

The man gave her a withering look before he sat down next to her and started to take off his boots and pour out the water. “Damp.” He finally murmured glad that it was boiling as it would dry him off soon.

Kelsa sobered a bit at the tone of S'ven's voice. That wasn't good at all. She pulled her knees up to her chest, resting her chin on her folded arms. “Sorry,” she said softly. “I should not have laughed.”

“No you should. Dar did it so I would laugh.” The man said, taking off his other boot doing the same, pouring the ocean back into the ocean. He frowned, taking a deep calming breath trying to take off his socks.

“But the laughing upset you,” she pointed out gently. She hadn't wanted to do that. They were working on finding their footing again anyhow after, what did Malearee call her? That feline.

“Getting dunked in the ocean upset me. Laughing at me did not upset me, how could you not laugh. I look ridiculous right now, I am annoyed at that great oaf.” He choked out sounding annoyed before he lay back on the dock and just stared up at the sky.

Vyiath looked at her mate and playfully nudged his shoulder. Kelsa tilted her head a little. “You sure you're okay?” She asked, hesitating to move closer til she knew he was kay. okay.

“Yeah.” He scrubbed at his face as he carried on taking deep breaths to calm down and focus on the there and then. “Long day.” He had been up since before dawn thanks to the dawn watch and then sweep.

Kelsa lowered her legs and crawled over next to him. “Then maybe you should go back to our weyr,” she said gently, touching his shoulder. He had been a bit off since the encounter with Ciy and Kelsa didn't know what to do.

“I am okay. You wanted to hang out here. I just need a moment to get my head from that space to our space.” he assured quickly wishing the moving was not so hard to do when he was tired and still resenting what had happened at the gather.

She nodded. “Yes I did. I thought it would be nice but I hadn't thought about how tired you would be,” she apologized. “I understand completely if you don't want to hang out here.”

“I did not sleep well.” He admitted. “Today would not be anywhere near as trying if I had slept.” He said with a sigh as the blue dragon nudged his feet making the man jerk it away. “Dar stop trying to tickle me.” He declared knowing the blue was trying to make him laugh.

Kelsa had never seen S'ven like this. The blue could always make his rider at least smile. “Why didn't you sleep?” She asked, almost afraid to find out. She felt like he had been pulling away from her since the Gather.

“I was just lying there knowing it was what I have wanted for a turn and … what was said at the gather by Ciy.” He shrugged. He knew Malearee would go spare that he had not seen the mind healer since it all but he just didn’t want to admit he had taken a step back.

She listened quietly, her fears confirmed. Kelsa blew out a frustrated breath. What she wouldn't give to go smack that woman. “She wasn't right,” Kelsa said gently, wanting to shake the man a bit. “She was just being cruel.”

“I know it just takes me back to that moment in weyrlinghood on the hatching ground where I was confused and did not understand why I had a blue dragon.” He said turning on his side to look at her.

}: Because you were perfect for me:{ Dareth commented nudging his riders feet again but this time he got a smile as the man looked down at the blue.

“And you are perfect right back Dar.” The rider assured.

Kelsa's lips thinned. “Don’t,” she said gently. “Dareth saw something in you just like Vy did me. You're special and I love you, but I don't want to lose you again.” She worried she wouldn't be able to pull him back.

“I am right here. I just feel deflated and a little empty.” He admitted trying to explain what was going on.

“I want to wring that little feline's neck,” she growled. “For making you doubt yourself again. You blue rider are all mine and I will only share you with Dareth.”

The man raised an eyebrow. “Well aren’t you all strong willed today.” He said finding himself smiling at the tone she used. It was like Malearee was sat there with him.

Kelsa narrowed her eyes at him. “Only when it comes to you. That woman makes me so mad,” she grumbled. Kelsa was not a violent person but she really hated the other woman at the moment.

He leaned out and touched her cheek, thankful to have her in his life. “Thank you.” He said softly. “Fancy a swim?” He wondered thinking something like that might just bring him back property.

She looked up at his gentle touch on her face. “That sounds perfect,” she agreed. A swim always made things better.

“Just like you.” He whispered, kissing her cheek, wishing he was fully how he had been before the gather. The man nodded and stood up, slipping out of his damp shirt and his trousers. He dived into the ocean making Dareth bugle happy as he dived under to check on his rider.

Kelsa laughed as he disappeared into the water. She shook shed her own shirt and pants, leaving just her undergarments. She followed the blue rider into water, causing Vyiath to bugle happily.

S’ven appeared above the surface with Dareth pulling him up by his arm making the man laugh. “Okay okay… I can swim, Dar.” He assured the blue dragon. “I grew up in a sea cot hold.”

Kelsa resurfaced a few seconds later, brushing hair out of her face. “There's that laugh,” she grinned happily.

The man rolled his eyes as she smiled again. “Dar thought I was drowning.” He laughed, finally getting the blue to let him go. “I am okay.” He swam over to the green rider and treaded water in front of her.

“Well at least he tried to help,” Kelsa giggled, sinking down in the water to her chin. the warm water felt great and she loved seeing S'ven smile again. .

“Aye. Good rescuer.” He leaned out and scratched the blues eye ridges making him snort water in the man’s face but he did not find.

***Thank you.*** S’ven said to the blue.

}: You perfect for me and too her.:{ The blue said before turning back to the green.

Vyiath splashed around in the water, swimming over by her mate. The young green was very happy.

Kelsa laughed at her green. She grinned at S'ven. “Feel better?” She asked.

He nodded at the woman and smiled. How could he not when the sky was bright blue and sunny, water warm and he was with his favourite human. “Much… “ He assured leaning out to caress her hair away from her face.

She closed her eyes at his gentle touch. It was the first time he had really touched her since the Gather. “I've missed you,” she admitted softly, opening her eyes half way.

“I know. I am sorry. I just felt a little tainted and didn’t want you to be too.” He explained quietly rolling his eyes at his own silliness. He hated how he felt with it all.

Kelsa swam closer to him. “I know, baby. I know that feline made you doubt all over again. I am never leaving you though,” she promised, putting her arms around him.

“Well not because I’m a blue rider at the very least.” He smiled as Dareth nudged him before he bugle loudly as dolphins surrounded them tickling his belly. The blue swooped up before diving below to play with the dolphins.

Vyiath trumpeted happily, diving under to follow the dolphins. Kelsa chuckled as she watched them. “They're happy,” she smiled, staying close to S'ven.

He watched the dragons and smiled more as he watched his blue disappearing under the surface before reappearing to stalk. “They are. Kels I am happy with you I promise.” He whispered, pressing a kiss to her temple. He needed her to know that.

Vyiath chased after her mate and the dolphins, enjoying herself. Kelsa turned back to S'ven. “I never doubted that,” she promised. “I was just worried about you.” She hated seeing him upset.

The man nodded. He could understand that, he was worried. “I will go to Nikolai.” He promised gently. Nikolai would know how to help him and get his head screwed back on.

Kelsa smiled before kissing him. “Thank you. and any way I can help ask.” She wanted her blue rider back and happy.y.

“I know.” He assured her just watching the scene in front of him, it was everything he had ever wanted from his life. He wanted to feel the happiness back that had been there less than a month ago and he only knew one way to get it back and that was by talking to Mel and R’kig.
