The sun was warm on her skin as she sat on the ledge playing cards by herself as Tyreth snoozed close by. Nerlyn smiled as the dragon snorted through his nose and sent cards blowing a little. “Thanks Tyreth.” Nerlyn laughed at the sleeping dragon but it served her right for doing it so close to the big bronze but she wanted to let K’ron put Raen to bed. So she needed to be far away from his pleading for Nerlyn to read him a story.

The bronze’s tail twitched a little bit but he never opened his eyes. It took K'ron a bit to finally get Raen to agree to go to bed. He definitely wasn't the story teller Nerlyn was but Raen hadn't minded. K'ron soon joined Nerlyn on the ledge. “Now I wonder where he gets that stubborn streak from?” He laughed, sitting down.

“Oh certainly me.” Nerlyn said not at all caring about their son getting stubbornness from her. That stubbornness was one of his best qualities in her opinion. “It’s one of the nice qualities he got from me.” She commented, smirking. “You okay?”

K'ron laughed. “Well I won't argue there,” he grinned. He knew that stubborn streak kept her going. “Yeah. Just didn't think he would be so hard to get to sleep,” he chuckled.

“He knows I leave in the morning and he has to stay with Tula for a sevenday.” She pointed out. It was the same every time. If Nerlyn could have taken him with her she would have but his life was here at the Weyr.

“Ah now it makes sense,” K'ron said. He was trying not to think about the fact she was leaving. “I have a rest day coming up so he'll be able to spend the whole day with me.”

Nerlyn smiled. “You will both enjoy that and you’ll have some peace and quiet and can go to the cavern and enjoy yourself.” Nerlyn pointed out as well. He could do stuff he resisted doing sometimes because of Nerlyn and Raen.

He raised a brow. “You know i love being with you two,” he said. Sure, he might not associate with the other riders like he used to but he enjoyed his time with Nerlyn and Raen.

“I know.” She assured him quickly with a smile. “But I also was a dragon rider and know how important some nights in the cavern are to connect with wing and morale.” She said looking down at the cards she was shuffling.

Yes, that was true. And as wingleader he did need to be with his wing. “Okay, okay,” he smiled, setting a hand over hers. “I'll make sure to be down with my wing too,” he said, hoping to put her at ease.

Nerlyn looked up at the man as his hand stopped her shuffling the cards she had been playing with. “Thank you.” Nerlyn said simply. She just wanted to know that she was not taking over his whole life.

He gave her a reassuring smile. “Of course,” he answered. “Raen and my wing. Think I can handle that,” he teased her, trying to keep a light mood as it was going to be hard having her gone.

“Seems easy.” She teased pulling her hand back to finish playing with the cards before she put them away in the old battered case.

He rolled his eyes with a laugh. “Yeah easy,” he grinned. K'ron was glad this was going smoother than when he had had to go north. He hated Nerlyn going but knew she had to.

“You handle so much more than that. You’ll be fine bronze rider.” She slurred shifting around so she could sit back against his chest.

K'ron put his arms around her as she shifted back against him. “Will i?” He teased, kissing her hair. “I'll do my best.”

“Your best is amazing enough. You don’t need me to hold your hand.” She laughed. “You have gone so much further than I ever could as a rider.” She reminded moving his hands to her bump.

“But I like you holding my hand,” he smiled as she moved his hands. “I still can't believe we're having another little one.”

Nerlyn rolled her eyes as she turned to look up at him. “You know exactly what I meant.”
She said grinning. “Better believe it. We did not have a newborn for long with Raen but this one I am not giving up for anything.” She reminded him, loving the way he surrounded her and she felt complete.

“Yes I knew what you meant,” he smiled. He nodded. “And I'll be there beside you through it all,” he promised. He couldn’t wait.

“Better be.” She commented, turning her gaze from the man to the setting sun reluctantly. She loved the view from this ledge much better than their last one and seeing the ocean in the distance.

“Oh I think I be in trouble with a lot of people including Ty and Koda,” he pointed out, kissing her neck. “But really I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.” being with Nerlyn and Raen was where he wanted to be.

“Let’s hope I don’t go into labour with thread or something just as distracting.” She laughed knowing it would be just her luck to have that happen. She shivered at the kiss on his neck and closed her eyes.

He moaned against her neck. “Please don't do that.” That's all he would need, for her to go into labor while he was fighting Thread. He would hate it.

“Like I can control my body at that point.” She laughed softly. She would not tell him if he was going to fight thread with her in labour, she would save him that worry.

“I know you can't,” he said, kissing her neck again. “But I really want to be there for you and the baby.” He hoped to Faranth it didn't happen during Thread.

“Jays me too.” The woman assured as she opened her eyes at the kiss on her neck again and smiled at the way he kept his lips there. She turned grinning more as she leaned forward to kiss him properly.

He would be happy though as long as they were both healthy and safe. K'ron smiled and leaned into her kiss. He had enjoyed her warm skin under his lips but the kiss was perfect.

Nerlyn grinned as she pulled back from the kiss a little and leaned her head against his. “You are perfect Kiron.” She whispered softly.
