Nerlyn lay on the ledge with Raen snuggled on her chest and stomach sound asleep after swimming all morning with Milayna and Mian. It had started as Nerlyn’s attempt to dry off but it had turned into a nap that Nerlyn was drifting in and out of. Tyreth was sound asleep too, sharing the ledge with the pair happily as he enjoyed listening to the little boy telling Nerlyn about how much he enjoyed the day. Nerlyn said perfectly still as she watched the little boy breathing steadily and snuggling close. It was perfect and soothing for the soul when everything felt so wrong at the moment.
Koda had found a spot close to Nerlyn and Raen to be able to keep an eye on them until his pet got there. He perked up a little when he heard footsteps.
K'ron yawned a bit. Drills had been a bit rough as the new wings were still working on getting used to each other. Poor Tyreth had had to pass on so many different instructions it was no wonder he was sound asleep now. K'ron made his way up to the weyr.
Nerlyn heard the footsteps but couldn’t yell to let him know they were out there without waking the little boy but the woman was slightly helpless to move in her current position. “Can you let K’ron know?” She whispered to Koda softly.
The little brown cheeped with a head nod. He disappeared only to reappear in front of K’ron. Koda chirped, sending his pet images.
“Okay okay,” K’ron laughed, following Koda. “Well now isn't this the perfect sight?” he whispered, kneeling by Nerlyn.
Nerlyn shifted a little to free her hand and caressed his cheek. “We were sleepy after swimming with Milaya and Mian. We were also very wet. There might be a few puddles.” Nerlyn said smiling.
He gave a gentle smile. “I can understand that. Swimming will do that. And no worries I'll clean it up in a little bit.” K'ron took a seat next to them as Koda went back to his perch.
Nerlyn shifted a little bit slowly to lay her head on his lap looking up at him smiling as the little boy nestled closer. “You look like you could have your own nap?” She said thoughtfully. Both dragon and rider looked exhausted.
The bronze rider started to play with her hair. “probably,” he agreed. “Drills were a bit more intense today as the new riders got used to each other. Think I need to figure out a wing second,” he admitted.
“Mmmhmm” Nerlyn had been telling him awhile that he needed to before he burnt out but it was great to see he was finally listening. “If you don’t know who to pick ask the other wing leaders or Weyrleaders.” She ventured into trying to get him to talk to the Weyrleaders in a positive way.
“Yes I should have listened to you sooner,” he agreed. He could be hard headed at times. He did bite his tongue from making a nasty remark. “Perhaps. We'll see.” He did really need to talk with the Weyrleaders.
Nerlyn said nothing as she just watched him and the emotions that were swirling around his face. “I was not commenting on that. It’s not my place to poke at your ego too often.” She teased him just a little knowing it would lighten his mood as well as stop the mood over taking him.
K'ron actually started laughing. “Yeah I think my ego needs poked sometimes,” he smiled around a yawn. “And yes I will speak to them. Can't keep wearing myself and poor Ty out like this.”
Nerlyn smiled at his laughter. It was her favourite sound after Raen’s laughter. “You need to rest my love.” She breathed as she shifted off his lap to turn so they were the same direction. She slowly shifted to lie Raen on her jacket snuggling against him still. “Come snuggle with us?” She tempted.
He was reluctant to have her move but soon realized why he did. “Mmm that is definitely tempting,” he agreed, moving to snuggle against Nerlyn and be close to her and Raen.
The woman smiled as he moved to snuggle against her back. She loved moments like this where she had her whole family close to her and the sun was shining. “How can I make it more than just tempting?” She wondered.
“Think you just did,” he chuckled, laying a hand over her waist. they didn't get a chance to do this very often. “Hope you don't have to be anywhere soon,” he whispered.
“Pinned by one or both of my boys is the only place I have to be.” She assured him, hoping that Raen slept for another candlemark or so to just allow him to rest.
“Good. I'm done for today too and I am not planning on moving,” he smiled, kissing her cheek. This was the perfect way to spend the rest of the day.
