Zirieh yawned a bit as she walked into the weyr, stretching her arms above her head. She had had early morning drills and didn't get a chance to ask her mate what his day entailed so she didn't know if he would be there or not. She dropped her jacket on the couch before looking around to see if G'vat was around or not. Her green hadn't said one way or the other before falling asleep.

At the sounds of movements, the man in question came out of the bathing room, brushing his teeth. He mumbled a morning before disappearing again to finish up, soon coming out properly, just in a towel. “Hey. You left early, " he commented with a smile.

Zirieh smiled when her mate showed up. She giggled a bit when it was obvious he had just gotten up. “Early drills,” she answered. “Not my most favourite.”

“Mid-day watch.” The man answered explaining his least favourite thing and what he was getting ready for very slowly. It was busy and he did not often get time to just watch people like the evening or night watches. He loved just watching the skies of Pern at night and seeing all the stars and seeing the dawn sisters at dawn and dusk.

Zirieh chuckled a bit. “Sounds like neither of us got jobs we particularly like today.” Mid day watch was crazy sometimes. She had sweeps later too but at least had a little time beforehand.

“No. But I should not complain. It is practically a rest day with just watch.” He shrugged before just smiling at her. He was not going to get hurt just stood there watching the skies for exiting and entrances. It would just be busy for him and Zillith so the bronze would not get to sun himself too much.

“That's true. I have sweeps in a little bit so I'll be sure to wave,” she smiled. Maybe they would actually get a chance to see each other that night.

“Better do.” He grinned at her easily. He watched her for a moment before starting to get dressed. He could not believe sometimes that he had a mate, he had not come south looking for anything other than power and to be Weyrleader and control the south but there he was a changed man thanks to Zirieh and Weyrleaders who actually looked out for the Weyr and the people within in a responsible way.

Zirieh grinned. “Of course. Then does that mean we actually get to spend the evening together?” She asked cheerily as she wound her hair up on top of her head, her shirt riding up her side a bit.

The man leant over tugging her shirt down playfully before nodding. “It does. Maybe we can go to Kymos or something for the evening?” He wondered looking up at her. It was not often they both had a night off and he would love to just even if it was to just go for a walk or something other than at the Weyr.

The green rider squealed a bit as his touch tickled her. “I would like that a lot,” she answered, dropping her hands back to her sides. It had been a while since they had an evening together.

“I will confirm with the Weyrleaders that we can go but I would really like that even if we can’t maybe we can go for a walk on the beach.” He assured returning with a smirk to get himself dressed. He still had to have some type of meal before watch shift otherwise he would eat nothing until the evening.

“Sounds good,” she grinned. She would be happy with whatever they decided to do. As long as they were together she was happy.

“I would do anything to keep that grin on your face and both of our dragons happy.” He said. They were a unit in his eyes not in a possessive way more of a… family he realised and smiled to himself. She was his family and the reason he kept learning to be a better man.

Zirieh walked over and hugged her mate. “Then I shall see you later, handsome,” she smiled, kissing him.

The man stopped mid doing up his shirt as she hugged him. He savoured the moment before all too quickly she was kissing him and trying to escape. “Safe skies.” He whispered kissing her one more time before letting her go. He was so sharding lucky.
