Bensen yawned a bit as he slipped back into the bedroom with a tray of food and drink. He had tried to be extra quiet when slipping out this morning as he didn't want to wake Rena or Brenna. He quietly set the tray down, picking up his own mug of klah. He would let the girls sleep. Today was a new day.

The first to appear was a very confused and sleepy-looking three-year-old. She said nothing but climbed onto the sofa and snuggled against him, pulling a fur over her against the chill of the morning. She was confused as her mum normally came to wake her up. “Morning, " the little girl said.

He smiled as Brenna came out and curled up on the couch with him. “Morning sweetpea,” he smiled, helping her tuck the fur around herself to keep warm. “Sleep well?”

Brenna nodded sleepily. “I did. I like my new bedroom.” Brenna and Rena had spent time setting it up how she would like but it still surprised her to wake up there this morning. “Where is mummy? She normally wakes me up? Are we late for classes?” She wondered rubbing her eyes.

“Good. I am glad you like the new room.” The two had done an excellent job of making it perfect for Brenna. “She is still sleeping. And no you still have time. I was up early and got breakfast for all of us,” he answered.

“I am not sleeping.” A voice assured from the other door that led off. Rena stood there, bathed and dressed in a dark dress though she looked tired. Brenna held out her arms as she was too comfortable to move snuggled against Bensen. Rena smiled and walked over cuddling next to Brenna cuddling her close to her bump leaning over to kiss Bensen. “Good morning.” She whispered.

“I hope I didn't wake you,” Bensen answered, leaning into her gentle kiss. “And good morning. Bre and I were just talking about her new bedroom and having breakfast.” He smiled at his small family. He never thought this would happen..

“Only because I was alone in bed.” She flirted a little with him grinning. Last night was something they could talk about later on but the tension between them was at least gone now. “And I would love breakfast. I am starving.” The Harper said as her little fire lizard blinked from between with a note in her mouth.

“I do apologize for that. I wanted to get breakfast for my girls,” he grinned. He loved being able to say that. And he was so glad that they were relaxed with each other. “Perfect. Hope I picked out the right things.”“

Rena rose, pulling the furs off Brenna despite her complaints about being cold and popped her into the seat at the dining table they could use for this purpose. “Of course you did. This is not the first time you have organised breakfast.” She appreciated his presence more and more as the days passed by. Rena had come to love the sound of his voice, even though he never seemed to speak more than necessary; maybe it was what made her cherish it even more. His presence was bringing her back to a place that she could be happy from especially after last night.

He chuckled a bit as he got up to join them at the table. Bensen quietly moved around, setting the three plates out for them with a little dish just for Cadence. “No but I still wanted to make sure I got things you both wanted,” he answered cheerily. He ruffled Brenna’s hair. “Right Bre? Gotta like your breakfast.”

Cadence chirped as Rena took the letter and read it. She sighed and put it into her pocket. “Thank you.” The woman said to the firelizard.

“Yes!” The girl cheered as she wiggled in her chair as Rena went to the fireplace and started to work it back to life. She could have gone to get a drudge but it was easier to just do it herself.

Bensen chuckled at the girl's enthusiasm. It was good to see. “Everything alright?” He asked when he saw Rena read the letter. Hopefully it was all good news. They didn't need to be taking a step back when things were finally looking right again.

Rena turned back and nodded offering a smile as she saw Brenna take a meat roll and tear some off for Cadence. “Healers requested to see me.” She shrugged, appointments would happen often with her previous issues.

Bensen nodded. That made sense to him. He chuckled a bit, glad he had remembered the plate for Cadence to enjoy. “Do you want me to go with you?” He didn't know how those appointments worked. Had Oseben gone with her? He had no idea.

“It’s in the middle of your dad so no it’s okay. It’s just to check bump size and other things.” She assured him, smiling as she stood awkwardly and clutched the mantlepiece to stop the dizziness. “Need food.” She decided.

“Okay. You let me know if anything changes,” he answered. Bensen would make it work. He frowned a bit when he saw her holding the mantlepiece. “You okay?” He asked gently, standing up to help her to the table.

“Just a little lightheaded. Must have been all that energy I used last night.” She teased but let him help her to the table setting her down. She swept her hair over her shoulder and smiled up at him as he loaded her plate with a few items. “Go eat yourself. You are going to be busy today with the Runners and other animals.” She advised.

“Oh, is that so?” He grinned, not embarrassed by that at all. He made sure she was seated and had her meal before moving to his own seat. “Okay, point taken. I'll eat myself too.” She was right. It would be a busy day.
