The baby was settled in her new cot that had been brought into the space by Bensen and Nabon of all people and Rena was sitting alone on the edge of the bed silently just contemplating the last 2 sevendays of chaos. She was finally allowed out of the infirmary and to rest in her own bed until she was fully recovered but she was finding herself just wanting to watch the baby. If she had been a boy it would have been so easy to name him Oseben but now looking at the girl she was clueless on what to call her.

Bensen had been thrilled to have his wife out of the infirmary and Brenna had been nearly impossible to keep still. He had given Rena some time to rest while he finished his rounds of the stables before slowly making his way back to their room. As he stepped inside he smiled as he saw Rena just watching the tiny baby. “Hey Rena,” he said gently.

Rena looked up at the man and smiled as she saw him come in. She rose awkwardly and rushed over to him, wrapping her arms around him. This was the first time it was just them since before she had gone into labour and she just needed a moment to hold him. “Hello.” She breathed, not caring if he was dirty.

He quickly caught her up in his arms, just needing to hold her. He had been so scared he would lose her and he just wanted to assure himself she was still there. “I like this kind of greeting,” he smiled, kissing her hair. “Sorry if I smell like runner.”

“I do not care right now.” She assured him knowing she was most likely not looking her best. She just needed a moment with him without an interruption or anything after the last couple of sevendays it was been a lot of being author surrounded by people.

Bensen nodded and just held her close. “Good because I really didn't want to let you go yet,” he said softly. It was truly nice to be alone even if it would only be for a short time. “It's good to see you though and get a chance to relax together.”

“You do not need to.” She whispered, stepping back to caress his face with both her hands as she took him in. “I am so sorry.” She explained quietly brushing her thumbs across his lips and then cheeks.

“No reason to be sorry. This wasn't your fault. All that matters is that you and the baby are safe and healthy now,” he whispered, kissing her finger tips.

“It was if I had just spoken up to anyone about being dizzy or anything none of this would have happened and all these new frown lines on your face would not be there. I tried to just get on with things despite feeling unwell because I did not want to cause drama.” She teased him a little trying to act a little more like she had.

“Oh so now I have frown lines?” He asked, leaning down to kiss her softly. “As long as you are here all is forgotten,” he promised. He just wanted her.

“Just a few. And I did think I saw a few grey hairs too.” She teased as she pulled back from the kiss and smiled up at him. “I am very much here and alive and sorry I caused you the stress.” She said softly as she saw the affection he had for her in his eyes.

“Hey now!” He exclaimed. “I do not have gray hair.” Of course, it was possible he did but he wasn't going to admit that. He shook his head as he kept his arms around her. “I'm just glad Senabena noticed you were missing but Bre was there.”

“It makes you distinguished.” She said stroking the hair around his temple before nodding. “Me too.” She said looking sad as she stepped back a little and sat on the bed.

He chuckled a bit. He could handle that. Bensen moved to sit beside her, slipping an arm around her shoulders. “I love you,” he whispered, kissing her hair.

Rena turned a little to him and kissed him properly. “I never thought after Ose that I could love someone, figures it was you.” She admitted knowing she had already said it but he needed to know. “I resisted, mind you. I do not feel worthy of it.”

Bensen had known that. Losing Oseben had been a shock to all of them and he knew it had been especially hard on Rena. “We've always been friends,” he pointed out, kissing her again. “And you very much are worthy. What happened to Ose was not anyone's fault but Dragon Hold.”

“I know but still I do not feel worthy of having you like this but I am so thankful to you for saving me.” She admitted quietly wishing she could convey what she was feeling so he could understand.

He slowly nodded. He knew she felt that way but he didn't quite know how to respond to that. Rena was the sweetest person he had even known but he knew she would never see it that way.

She knew it was complicated but right then and there it was not the time for that complication so she simply nodded at him. “Just give me time.” She finally said softly breaking the silence a little with her words.

“All the time you need, love,” he said softly, playfully nuzzling her neck. “I am not going anywhere.” Bensen would wait forever if that was what Rena needed.

“Don’t do that. I am very much not ready for where that leads.” She whispered laughing a little at how playful he was. “I know you are not. I very much do not want you anywhere else.” She assured quietly stroking a hand down his side.

He chuckled softly against her hair. “Sorry I couldn't help myself but I'll behave,” he promised. He really just wanted her to know how much he loved her. “Now who's teasing?” he smiled.

“I'm just showing you I care, " she said, leaning her head against his. She shifted a little and stared into his eyes. “My body is going to take a while to get back to normal.” She admitted. She was going to have to take better care of herself and going forward she needed to really rethink children.

“And I thank you for that,” he assured her. His eyes danced happily. Bensen slowly nodded. “Of course. whatever I can do to help you just need to ask.” He will help her any way he could.

“Just being you and occasionally helping me up as I’m still tender.” She laughed awkwardly. It was hard work getting your body have to normal after a baby and her body had been trauma.

“Think I can handle that,” Bensen smiled. He would help whenever and with whatever she needed. “You just rest and leave the rest to me,” he said.

The woman shook her head at the thought of leaving the rest to him. She hated that thought if she was honest, she was not the type to just do that especially when she had just gotten back to normal. “I cannot just leave everything to you.”

He had known she wouldn't be happy with that suggestion. “Love, I do not expect you to drop everything. But if you feel yourself needing to rest please do. I can handle Bre and our baby for a bit. Plus I have a mother and Senabena,” he grinned.

“And Nabon and Enabon according to Brenna.” The girl had been excited at how much time she had been speeding with her uncles and learning so much more about her family. “But that brings up our baby. What are we going to call her?” She laughed she was 2 sevendays old and still did not have a name.

Bensen laughed. “Yes, my brothers have been enjoying spending time with Bre. Even father has been helping with her.” It was amazing to see his family step up like that. Bensen considered her next question. “Hmm yes we should probably figure that out,” he chuckled. he knew she wanted to honor Oseben so he wanted to use his brother's name somehow.

“Osena.” Rena said quietly as she got up to looking over the crib at the little baby fast asleep without a care in the world.

Bensen glanced at Rena’s soft voice, and a smile touched his lips. “That is perfect,” he agreed. Just like our little one.”

Rena smiled a little. “You sure?” She wondered knowing he was not that type of man but she had seen it happen with life-changing events. She would never be a master harper with her love of teaching children but she had been a sole hold harper before she came to Far Site and had seen the worst and best of people.

Bensen nodded. “Very sure. I wouldn't want it any other way,” he assured her. that name suited the little girl perfectly and it was a nice way to honor Oseben. “Mother and father will love it too,” he promised her, moving to stand behind her at the crib.

The woman leaned back against him a little, waiting for him to wrap his arms around her before she relaxed against him. “Good. Thank you for all of this.” She repeated for the millionth time.

He gently wrapped his arms around her, kissing her hair. “There is no reason to thank me,” he smiled, looking down at Osena. “I love you and you've been my best friend for Turns.”

Rena said nothing. There were many reasons to thank him but she was not going to keep going over it all. She needed to find a way through the last 2 months and try to find a way to move their marriage forward. “I will try and continue to be that.” She promised.

“Just be yourself,” he said softly. That was all he expected of her. Bensen didn't want anything else. He wanted her happy and their family to be happy.

“I will try.” She promised. Trying was all anyone could ask off of her after the last turn. It was impossible to promise but trying was enough.

Bensen kissed her hair. “And that's all I want,” he assured her. He knew they were both hurting still but time would help fix things.
