Rena span away from Enabon as he moved through the familiar dance routines of the formal dance. The man was a lot more relaxed now with Rena as she was out of his reach and he did not need to try and entice her into a relationship, she was his sister in law properly again. He smiled and pulled her close again before turning away again. Rena laughed at the man’s determined face as he tried to remember the steps of the dance.
“Thank you for the dance.” He said as the music ended and he bowed.
Bensen had managed to pull his sister into a dance since Enabon had borrowed his wife. He laughed as he danced with Senabena.
Lady Sena smiled as she watched her children. “They all look so happy,” she smiled at her husband. This was finally something to celebrate after mourning for so long.
Oben looked around himself as he bowed to his wife and nodded. All his children looked happy which was the most important part to him in his old age . “They do all look happy. It has been a long time since that has happened. You were wise my love to call me out on Bensen marrying,”
Sena chuckled a bit. “We've been married a long time, love and I know our children,” she pointed out gently as she watched Bensen walk back over to his new wife.
“Many happy and joyous turns.” Oben assured taking her chair leading them back to their chairs at the tables. “She would never have been happy with Enabon and Bensen would have been even more low pining for something out of his reach.” Oben was happy to be incorrect.
Sena nodded. It was true, but over the Turns they had come to trust each other so she hadn’t worried that Oben would argue with her.
Bensen smiled at his wife. “Do you mind if I borrow my wife back?” He asked his brother.
Enabon smiled at the man and nodded stepping back formally from the harper. “I believe I was the one borrowing brother.” The man’s stated and disappeared through the crowds leaving Rena with Bensen. The harper raised an eyebrow at him before laughing.
“Hello. And that was very firm. My wife.” She teased him.
“True,” Bensen laughed as Rena pointed that out. “Well you are,” he grinned, holding an arm toward her. He would dance or sit. Whatever she wanted to do.
“It was the tone. Very much staking your claim. Never seen you do that before.” She looked her arm through his as she tugged him towards one of the benches. She was feeling light headed but knew it would pass in a little bit.
He smiled almost sheepishly. “Guess it's finally sinking in,” he grinned, laying a hand over hers. “And I like it. I guess I just want everyone to know you are my wife.” He led her over to a bench to sit down.
“You can do it all you want, Ben. I have just never heard that tone from you.” She assured him quietly. “I wear your trinket for a reason.” She said sitting down nearly missing the bench.
Bensen couldn't have been happier. He loved Rena and wanted all of Pern to know it. “And I'll always love you, Ren.” He quickly caught her arm. “You okay?”
“Yeah, just a little dizzy.” She admitted moving a little closer as she sat better on the bench. “Do not worry. I know you have told me many times, dear husband.” She laughed trying to not look too embarrassed at nearly ending up on her butt. She knew he loved her, it would just take her time to find her way through her emotions and declare her own emotions.
Bensen didn't like that. “You sure it's just a touch of dizziness?” He asked gently, wrapping an arm around her shoulders and kissed her hair. “And I'll keep telling you,” he said gently.
“Of course. I’m top heavy at the moment and I have just been dancing.” She assured him not worried just embarrassed by being caught. “Just wait till I am not pregnant.” She promised him and smiled more as she noticed the protectiveness coming out.
He considered her words. He guessed it made sense. Bensen laughed a bit. “Then we'll be chasing two little ones around,” he grinned. He couldn't wait. It would be very new but exciting too.
“And you won’t have time to worry.” She commented laughing a little more despite the heavy feeling in her shoulders and side. She needed to learn to slow down or at least say no to her brother in laws requests for dances.
“Oh I can still worry,” he assured her. “But I will definitely have other things on my mind.” He shifted to look over at her. “Sure you're okay?” He asked gently. “You look a bit pale.”
“Yeah, just a headache brewing and feeling a little heavy.” The woman assured thinking of the weight she had been putting on could not be helping at all but that it was something to deal with once she had given birth.
He couldn't argue as he didn't know how a pregnant woman should be feeling. “Do you need to go lay down or just sit here?” He would help her back if that's what she wanted.
“I am fine just here. Go and dance or something if you want to.” She encouraged as she saw several eyes on them watching for any signs of disharmony or anything. But Rena was pretty sure they were happy the way they were. “Just because I am heavily pregnant does not mean you do not get to drink wine and enjoy yourself.”
Bensen hesitated before nodding. He leaned over and gently kissed her. “Just shout if you need anything,” he told her. He would be back by her side at the drop of hat.
“You won’t be able to hear over the sound of the music.” She laughed, stroking his cheek. She wanted him to enjoy the night if he could. “I will have company I am sure.” Rena was sure of that and she had to put Brenna to bed as she would not go for anyone else.
She was probably right but still. He flashed her a smile at her touch. “Alright but my offer stands. I'll come back,” he assured her. Although he had a feeling she would get mad at him for it.
“I know. Go and have fun and I will sit here for a few moments and catch you up.” She promised smiling back at him. Wedding celebrations were not designed for the heavily pregnant.
He nodded. “I'll be back shortly,” he promised, giving one more quick kiss before heading back to his family and guests
