Kidnapping

Posted on Mon Sep 21st, 2026 @ 2:15pm by Jr Journeyman Nerlyn & Bronze Rider K'ron & Blue Rider R’kig

Mission: 3531 AL

R'kig sat in his weyr checking over Rizerth's straps. It wasn't so much that they needed done right that second but it gave him something to concentrate on after talking with Nikolai. He really needed to apologize to G'len as he knew he had over reacted, but he wasn't sure what to say.

Rizerth poked his head into the weyr. ):Mine? Are you okay? You seem upset.:(

R'kig looked up at his blue. **I'm okay. I just have a lot on my mind right now.**

Nerlyn wanted to check up on the man despite how they had left things 2 sevendays ago she still knew he was struggling and wanted to keep track. She banged on the door and waited for some type of summons that she could go inside as she knew he was there she had seen Rizeth and him arrive.

The blue rider jumped at the pounding, not really expecting anyone. “It's open,” he called, trying to untangle himself from his straps. No one ever came to see him. We'll K'ron but his brother never knocred. Of course with Koda announcing his arrival the bronze rider didn't have to.

Nerlyn strode in wearing a dress instead of the dolphineer uniform she was accustomed to wearing at the moment. It always felt more natural than her everyday clothes after turns of flight her gear. “Hello? Fancy some company?” She wondered quietly as she took in his attempts to detangle himself.

R'kig was surprised by the voice that preceded the dolphineer. Not to mention the fact she was in a dress. He wasn't sure he would ever get used to that. “Sure,” he answered, finally getting his straps sorted out.

She flopped down on the couch next to him and picked up the straps automatically going through the motion of running her fingers along the edges. “Are we fixing or checking?” She wondered picking something simple to start with.

“Mainly checking,” he answered simply. He thought the straps were okay but it gave his hands something to do. “It's nice to see you,” he finally said, not sure what else to say.

Nerlyn nodded as she ran her hands along a bumping part and smiled at him. It was sweet of him to say. “You too. I came to check on you as last time we spoke before you kidnapped me, you had not been in the right frame of mind.” She said slowly with no judgement.

R'kig sighed a bit. no he hadn't been at all. And then he had done that wherry brained kidnapping. Shards he was a mess. “No I wasn't. I'm still not completely there,” he admitted softly. If anyone would understand and al not judgeit would be Nerlyn.

“Course you are not completely there. It will takes ages and lots of kindness to yourself.” Nerlyn said, smiling a little at how people thought it was a simple fix. “So how can I help R’kig?“ she asked gently as she held a small knick out to him.

R'kig shifted around to work at repairing the knick. “I talked to Nikolai today,” he admitted slowly. “He said to focus on three things that make me happy.” He still couldn't believe that had been so hard. “Being with my family was one.”

“Well then lucky I was bored and knew you’d be around somewhere as your brother is sound asleep on the sofa in his weyr.” She laughed softly as she sat back and relaxed a little. It was hard not to want to push him too hard. “What about the other 2?” She wondered.

R'kig raised a brow. “You actually got him to stop?”he asked in surprise. K’ron didn't usually slow down for much. He was glad Nerlyn had stopped by, but he wondered what she would think of his others. “Neilla,” he admitted softly. “And of course having adventures with Raen.”

“Well I think he most likely sat down and fell asleep but he has stopped for a little bit.” It took the woman a few long seconds to catch up. “Neilla?” Raen was a given but her sister was something she had not expected that.

The blue rider had to smile a bit at that. That sounded more like his brother. Work til you dropped. He nodded slightly. “She's always been one of my best friends and well…” it felt weird talking to Neilla's sister about anything like this.

“Oh stop… I do not need to know what you are getting up to. I still see you as that little boy at points.” Nerlyn said, rolling her eyes. If this had been 3 year turns before she would have blown hot and competitive but her sisters were fully capable of looking after themselves and who they slept with. They were the dragon riders after all. “Just stay out of trouble and do not tell my son as he will be planning your wedding or something.”

R'kig gratefully stopped trying to explain. Especially since he really couldn't. It had just happened and Neilla's friendship had slowly helped pull him out of darkness. He winced. “No weddings and no telling Raen,” he agreed. That would be all he needed. He was still confused as it was.

Nerlyn laughed softly as she turned a little and winced as she rubbed her bump. “Glad we all agreed on not telling Raen.” She agreed gently.

“Are you okay?” He asked, seeing her wince. The last thing he needed was her being hurt. K'ron would kill him.

“Of course I am struggling this sevenday with my body adjusting to baby. Things are uncomfortable.” Nerlyn saw the man look worried. “It is all completely normal.”

“It is?” He asked. He knew very little about pregnancy and what he did know was if something was wrong K'ron would have a fit. “and you’re sure?”

“There is a lot of tiredness involved in pregnancy and today is that kinda day.” The woman assured touching his arm. “Relax. I am okay. And today isn’t about me or anything. I want to know that you are okay and how can I help?” She asked, trying to turn it all on him.

He nodded, figuring she knew best. He wouldn't push as it wasn't his place. R'kig blew out a breath. “I'm trying to be. It's hard though. I feel alone a lot even though I know you guys are there.”

“Why don’t you go grab your brother and both of you spend the night in the dining cavern listening to harpers and enjoying rider company?” She suggested softly thinking they could probably do with a night like that.

R'kig looked up at Nerlyn in surprise. “Don't you want him with you and Raen?” He knew Nerlyn needed K'ron too and R'kig wasn't going to take that from her.

“Course I do but he doesn’t need to be there every night and not enjoy his own life or do rider things .” The woman stood, deciding she was not giving either an option. “Come on let’s go let him.” She demanded

R'kig knew that look. There would be no changing her mind so he just stood up to follow. “Alright,” he agreed.

Nerlyn led the way to where indeed the bronze rider was sound asleep on the sofa with a blanket over his courtesy of the Dolphineer when she left. “K’ron? Time to get up.” She said gently kneeling next to him so she didn’t jolt him.

The blue rider hid a smile behind his hand when he saw his brother. That definitely wasn't normal for K'ron.

“Hmm?” The bronze rider mumbled, still half asleep..

“Time to get up. R’kig is here to kidnap you this time.” Nerlyn said, smiling at the love of her life. He was adorable when he was half asleep and confused.

K'ron rubbed at his eyes. “Kidnap?” he asked, trying to follow what mate was saying. his sleepy mind wasn't catching on.

R'kig laughed a bit. “yep just for tonight.”

“Come on, baby, wake up.” Nerlyn laughed standing up a little awkwardly. “You and he are going to have a night out together.”

The bronze rider finally got his bearings enough to realize what they were talking about. He pushed himself up on the couch with a slight stretch. “So you're just letting him drag me off?” K'ron asked with a smile.

“Not exactly letting him. I am making him. You need a night out and so does he.” Nerlyn said quietly, sitting up properly on the couch from where he had moved.

K'ron looked over at R'kig and his brother nodded. “And I know that tone. There is no arguing there,” K'ron smiled at his mate. Of course he had been meaning to check on his brother anyhow.

“So off you go. If you are drunk, stay at his.” She added with a dismissive push of the bronze rider. She did not need a drunk mate rolling home.

R'kig laughed as K'ron frowned a bit. “Fine,” he agreed, getting to his feet. A night with his brother would nice.

“I am too uncomfortable to have drunk you sleeping all over the place. And Raen star shapes so I am not sleeping there.” Nerlyn said grinned as she looked at the blue rider and winked.

“Come on, you,” R'kig grinned, snagging his brother's arm. K'ron rolled his eyes, snagging his boots quickly as R'kig pulled him out of the weyr.

Nerlyn smiled as she watched the pair leave and glanced to where Peridot was uncurling from around her neck and nuzzled her cheek. “Just us then Peri.” Nerlyn decided letting out a long breath as she decided what to do now she was alone.
