Theeressa was excited about the fact Kymos was having a gather. She was not fully healed but it was the perfect day to just enjoy everything she was working on for the party they were going to have with their friends long into the night. It lifted her mood more than the love she felt from knowing everyone was under one house and they were still in bed. The woman was humming to herself as she started on pastry to make into items later on whilst she had a chance.
Riklan had managed to get the day off and had plans on spending the whole day with his family and friends. Although when he woke up his wife was already up and out of bed. He quickly got dressed himself and walked out, enjoying the smell of fresh baking pastries. “Morning love.”
“Hey you. I knew the smells would wake you up.” She laughed walking over to hug him closer to her and snuggled against his chest smiling. “I can’t believe we are having a party.” They had never held anything like that before where it was just them hosting.
He laughed as he wrapped an arm around her. “You know me and food,” he grinned. Riklan shook his head. “Me neither. What can I do to help?” He didn't want her to have to do everything.
“Better than putting a rooster in the room with you.” She grinned up at him and ran a hand through his hair affectionately. “Get Laressa up and feed her.” That would be the best thing he could do to help her right now when she was in the zone.
“Mama cooking? Smells yummy.” Said a sleepy voice coming down the stairs. “Kasa woke up.” She added as the cries were made more pronounced as the doors were now open.
“Ooh yes, I would rather smell food.” He chuckled as she ran her hand through his messy hair. “Think I can handle that,” he answered as Laressa walked into the room. “Want me to grab Kasa too?” He offered, swinging his half-sleeping daughter into his arms.
Theeressa smiled. “I am sure you can handle that and more handsome.” She smiled at Laressa looking confused and sleepy. She looked just like Riklan when she woke up. “Please. I’ll dish up some food for you two whilst you see to the tiniest member of our family.” Theeressa assured as Laressa let out a squeal as she was picked up and wrapped her arms around her dad’s neck.
Riklan kissed his daughter's hair. “Then we shall return.” He chuckled as Laressa squealed. He hadn't honestly meant to scare her. “Alright Lars let's go get your sister.” Riklan turned to head for Kasa's room.
Theeressa watched the pair leave the room and listened to the soft sounds of talking from the man and the little girl as they set about getting Kasa out of her cot and getting her ready. Theeressa loved listening to the sounds as she dished up 3 bowls around the table and set them out on the table with some jam that she had made.
Riklan soon returned with both girls in his arms. Kasa was dressed and content now and Laressa was definitely more awake. “Think we can eat now,” he grinned at his wife.
“Good. Come here little one.” Theeressa said to the baby and snuggled her close sitting down to see if she wanted to nurse whilst they all had breakfast but the baby did not seem interested so Theeressa put her in the sling that once upon a time had held Laressa when they had lived at the Weyr for the first month of her life before returning to Kymos. “Eat you two.” She instructed holding out spoons to the pair.
“Think we better listen,” he said, grinning at his oldest daughter. He handed her the extra spoon. “Smells wonderful, Theer.”
“Eat you two.” Laressa said copying Theeressa’s tone and mannerisms with a wicked grin as she swang her legs and dived into the porridge not even moaning that it was not sweet enough for her yet. Theeressa raised an eyebrow at the little girl's cheekiness and shook her head at Riklan.
“That is Marika.” She teased knowing full well it could have been either of her sisters coming out in her there and then.
Riklan raised a brow at his daughter. “I think you might just be right. I've heard that tone a time or two,” he chuckled, taking a bite of his meal. The warmth was much appreciated as it helped wake him up more.
“A time or two? Ha!” Theeressa snorted as the baby shifted at the bark of laughter on her chest.“Ow.” She winced as she remembered she was still a little sort.“That serves me right for teasing. I am sorry Rik.” She chuckled not overly sorry as she stared at him smiling.
Riklan chuckled as Kasa shifted. "Thanks, Kas,” he grinned. “It's fine,” he grinned. “I know it's all in love.” He was glad they were now back to where they could tease each other.
“No more kissing,” Laressa yelled making faces as the pair stared at each other in the way they had been doing for the last couple of months. The little girl grinned but shook her head. Theeressa laughed into her porridge.
“You are certainly a holder girl my little one.” Theeressa leant over and caressed the little girls hair.
Riklan tried not to laugh but he couldn't help it. Laressa was growing up so quickly. “She is,” he agreed. Which he was glad. He wanted his girls safe.
“Just me lowering the tone of this household.” She declared rolling her eyes as she set about eating the food before something burned or the oven got to hot too quickly. It was the favourite thing about the house when they moved there was that the oven was bigger. It meant she could start a small sideline in baked goods for the tavern she cooked at before she had gone off to have Kasa.
Riklan turned back to his own meal. There wasn't much he could do right now but watch over the kids and right now Kasa was happy with Theeressa and Laressa was still eating.
