Kelsa yawned a bit as she shifted in bed. A sleepy smile touched her lips though when she realized S'ven was curled up next to her. It had been quite a night. After what had nearly been a disaster things had changed very quickly.
The green smiled again and snuggled back down in the furs. She didn't want to wake her weyrmate. Shards. they were actually weyrmates officially now.
Whilst Kelsa had reservations waking the sleeping blue rider Dareth had no such reservations and started to speak to the young man.
}: I am wasting away. :{ Dareth assured her. }: I am hungry S’ven. :{
“What?” S’ven said, waking confused and shifting to lie on his back.
Kelsa blinked in surprise as S'ven woke quickly. “Are you okay?” She asked, not realizing that Dareth had woke him.
Vyiath seemed to laugh from her spot on the ledge. ):I do not think you will starve,:( the green crooned to her mate.
}: I am wasting away. :{ The blue repeated both to his mate and then his rider which did not help S’ven’s confusion as the man blinked hard in the darkness. }: You eat yesterday. I did not. :{
“Hungry.” He said rubbing his eyes as he glanced to Kelsa. “Oh hello.” He said slightly less confused.
“Hungry?” Kelsa repeated as Vyiath rolled her eyes at her mate. The green playfully nudged the blue's shoulder, nipping at his wing.
“You're hungry?” She pushed herself up on an elbow. “I can go grab us something.”
The man blinked intently at the younger woman as he heard Kelsa’s questions. “Yes… no… maybe… But no … Dareth is.” He explained lying back down for a moment as he tried to process the wake up. He had not felt Dareth that hungry in the pit of his own stomach since a weyrling and no idea where it had come from.
Kelsa shook her head. That was just as confusing. **Vy?**
):Dareth says he is wasting away. I think he is making it up,:( the green answered, nudging her mate’s side again.
Kelsa turned back to S'ven. “So Dareth is hungry? Do we need to go feed him? Vy thinks he's making it up,” she answered, sitting a bit while keeping the furs against herself.
“Dareth is very hungry. I can feel it in the pit of her stomach.” S’ven said feeling uncomfortable with the sensation. The blue dragon said nothing even when his mate nudged him, he was hungry and she thought he was lying.
“In that case we better get him fed,” Kelsa said, moving to get out of bed. That was definitely a quick ending to a nice morning.
Vyiath watched her mate. She had never seen him so hungry.
“Okay okay I’m moving. You do not need to come if you want to stay in bed.” The blue rider mumbled as he stood and started to find some clothes to put on. He quickly managed socks, underwear and trousers and a tunic before he trudged out sleepily to where the blue was looking impatient.
“And what am I going to do all by myself?” She asked. She had hoped to stay snuggled with him for a bit but the dragons came first. She just hoped that Dareth was alright. The dragons didn't usually get that hungry. She quickly found her own set of clothing and walked out to the ledge where Vyiath was watching Dareth curiously.
Dareth nudged at S’ven as he appeared sleepily forgoing the straps in his haste to sort out the blue. “If you are this hungry we better get going.” S’ven said, hauling himself up onto the blue and ducked a little as the blue climbed out onto the ledge and jumped from the ledge to where the feed ground was. the morning was misty and the herd beasts were distant shadows. S’ven groaned as he realised that the blue was nowhere near hungry as he made out. He just wanted to stalk the herd beasts in the fog.
Kelsa kept quiet as she mounted Vyiath. The green followed the blue down to the herd beast pen, still not understanding what his issue was. Kelsa looked over at S'ven as the fog swirled around them. “is he okay?”
“Of course the git is. He just wanted to hunt in the fog.” The blue rider said standing on the fence as the blue took off into the fog. He rolled his eyes as he heard a roar and then the trampling of many hoofs sent running by panic.
“Seriously?” She asked in shock. Vyiath grumbled, not at all impressed by her mate right now. the green settled down behind them as Kelsa stood by S'ven. “At least he is okay.”
“Yes seriously. Every sharding time.” The blue rider sighed and jumped down from the fence to rub his hand together against the chill. “He loves stalking in the fog.”
“As does Kalaith.” Lana commented from behind them as a shadow cast over them as Kalaith indeed started to stalking the sleepy and scared herd beast. Lana looked at least a little more prepared wearing flight gear and carrying 2 mugs of klah.
Kelsa laughed a bit. Vyiath didn't seem to care one or the other so she hadn't realized that there were some dragons that enjoyed the fog. “Oh good morning, Weyrwoman,” she said, folding her arms to keep warm.
“Good morning Kelsa. S’ven… We meet again.” Lana held out her spare mug to the man who rolled his eyes and offered it instantly to Kelsa making the woman smile. S’ven sighed as he heard Kalaith’s louder roar which revertated around the bowl.
“He decided to trick me this morning and make out he was starving to death and I was too sleepy to realise until we were here Weyrwoman.” He explained.
Kelsa took the mug and took a sip before passing it back to S'ven. She knew he needed it too. “Vy said he was making it up but we didn't know.”
Lana wanted to howl with laughter but the poor blue rider looked tired and confused so she just smirked into her mug of klah. “Well they are from the same hatching S’ven. They used to stalk herdbeasts together when we were Weyrlings Kelsa.” Lana said kindly, watching the pair. They seemed a lot more at ease than she had seen them together last time.
“Oh,” Kelsa commented. “I didn't realize that.” Of course she hadn’t really thought about who was from what clutch. it certainly made a lot of sense then. “Poor herd beasts,” she commented.
S’ven smiled and wrapped his arm around the green rider's waist and pulled her close. “Long time ago.” He commented as Lana moved to the fence to try and track some of the movement in the thick fog.
Kelsa leaned against him, glad he seemed awake now. “You saying your old, blue rider?” She teased. She definitely didn't consider him old.
“I was a rider very young.” He said quietly. He had been barely 13 when he impressed, he had barely knew himself and thankfully older riders like Lana and Kirala had taken him under their wings to help him out and keep him out of most of the trouble he could have gotten into.
Kelsa smiled. She did remember him saying he had Impressed young. She watched the dragons who were still having fun. Vyiath yawned a bit and curled up.
“I am sorry about the early start.” He said sipping the klah. “He picks the best times. Still want me as weyrmate?” He wondered smiling as he noticed Lana watching before she looked away acting like she was not.
“It's okay,” Kelsa answered around a yawn. She wrinkled her nose. “Of course I do,” she answered without hesitation. “I'm sure Vy will surprise us one of these times.”
S’ven smiled and just nodded, holding her close to him as he closed his eyes just enjoying the early morning silence. It was punctuated by several panicked herd beast sounds and then the familiar sounds of dragons eating.
}: I am not wasting away now. :{ The blue declared finally making S’ven chuckle.
}: You never were Dareth. Mine says you are silly to wake yours up overreacting. :{ The gold queen commented as she swooped over him with her own beast. }: Vyiath knew you were overreacting. :{
Kelsa snuggled back against his chest. “But blue rider I will require some klah and snuggle time to warm up,” she teased him. Really it was peaceful and she didn't mind being out here. “Is Dareth alright now?”
Vyiath snorted softly. ):he is fine,:( the green said, yawning. ):he just wanted to play in the fog.:(
“He is fine. Just ridiculous.” S’ven assured quickly. The blue dragon had a thing for the dramatics it felt but at least he was consistent. Klah and snuggles he could easily do once the blue had stopped gorging himself.
“Let’s hope the day becomes sunny with all this sea fog.” Lana said brightly she had never seen fog like it until she had come to River Cove.
Kelsa chuckled a bit. “Gotta love our dragons. They keep us on our toes.” She looked over as Lana spoke up. “Some sun right now would be nice. It's definitely chilly this morning.”
“Just what we need after a gather.” Lana would never admit that she had left A’ren at Kymos sound asleep in the room they had been given because Kalaith had stated she was hungry and Lana knew they could not hunt in Kymos holdings. Thank the first egg for the time difference that it was still early morning at Kymos when she had snuck out in her gather clothes that were barely tied up thanks to no one being able to help. The Weyrleader would be missing his flight jacket but at least Lana had done of her dignity. .
Kelsa laughed softly. “Definitely could have done without the really early wake up call. Maybe if the dragons are all happy now we can all still get a candlemark or two of sleep,” she added hopefully. She knew she could still use some sleep.
“Go on. I’ll keep watching them. Why don’t you both get back to bed,” Lana was not going anywhere without Kalaith and she was very much awake despite only a few hours of asleep.
Kelsa looked at S'ven. “S'ven?” She asked. She didn't want to answer that for him. “Vy is going to wait too.”
“Sure. He knows how to get himself home… I think.” S’ven said the last bit as a joke but nodded he had no issue with that. Lana would make sure everything was well.
The green rider grinned. “Thank you, Weyrwoman,” she said as she slipped her arm through S'ven's. A bit more sleep would be nice.
