KH: I handle you

Posted on Mon May 26th, 2025 @ 8:33am by Bronze Rider I'han & Green Rider Tanly

Mission: 3531 AL
Location: Kymos Hold
Timeline: M2 Day 28

Tanly linked her arm through I'han's as they walked. She couldn't believe they just witnessed a wedding and one of very high importance. It was certainly a night to remember.

“What a night,” she whispered, smoothing a hand down her green dress.

I’han raised an eyebrow as her exclamation. “What a night?” He wondered, grinning. “We have not got to dance? Or romancing? Or food yet Tan.” He teased her by twirling her in front of him taking in her appearance. “Beautiful.” He assured her. He stopped for a moment looking up at the hold properly now that they had finally arrived by themselves as the other four had disappeared in all direction by the impromptu wedding.

“Who would have thought we would get to witness a wedding,” she smiled, before giggling ad he spun her around. She flushed a bit. It had been long time since she had worn a dress but it felt appropriate for tonight. “Well than it's a good thing we still have time.”

“Me too. Been a while since I’ve witnessed one. You don’t see them often as a dragon rider.” He murmured thoughtfully. He smiled at her blushes and kissed her cheek. “You better have your dancing shoes on for all these hold lively dances.” He teased stepping aside to let someone pass him.

Tanly nodded. “that is true. It was beautiful though.” She was happy for the couple. The green rider chuckled. “I made sure to wear flats,” she promised. Her boots would have been more comfortable but they would have clashed badly with the dress she had picked.

“Good we do not need you being injured.” He said happily. He had not considered Bensen the marrying type despite all their conversations over the years and how much in love he had been with Lenya. “Shall we?” He indicated going inside.

“Definitely don't want that,” Tanly agreed. Having a twisted ankle certainly wouldn't be good. She nodded as she stepped beside him again. “We shall.” So far it had been a beautiful day.

I’han smiled softly and led her inside the hold. He resisted the urge to stop and just look around again as there was so much to take in. Kymos really had put their best foot forward to show that Marcano was in charge now. It was inspiring and I’han smiled. “Amazing what a new Lord Holder can do with some glows and tapestries.” He commented gently as he heard the first few beats of a harper song starting.

Tanly looked around in awe. The place looked amazing. She hadn’t really expected anything so elaborate. “It really is. it's beautiful,” she commented, loving the atmosphere the glows made.

“Never seen it looking so grand.” I’han admitted. He had grown up at Kymos so he really knew what he was talking about. “Lord Marcano has really attempted to turn things around and remind Pern how grand things could be.”

“He seems to be doing an excellent job of it,” Tanly admitted. “I think it has really helped to cheer everyone up.” She knew after the past Turn they all needed that. Something to actually look forward to and hold onto.

“Stability normally does that to folks. Let’s just enjoy that moment for a few heart beats.” I’han wrapped his arms around her shoulders just savouring the moment before it was gone with the harper beat speeded up.

I'han had a good point there. Tanly leaned back against him as she watched the crowd. It was a beautiful sight to behold. “I hope things can stay this way for a while,” she said softly.

“I am sure it will. The Weyrleaders and Lord Holders are all in agreement over the situation. Dragon Hold is all gone, the Weyr is thriving again. Thread score feels like our only problem again.” Which was a big problem but it was the problem that dragon riders were there to deal with not having to deal with people who want to kill them despite how they keep the skies free from Fred.

Tanly nodded. He had a very good point. It did seem like everyone was in agreement this time. And she had no doubt things would be better without Dragon Hold. “Well I guess we can't have everything,” she smiled. She would gladly take Thread over Dragon Hold.

“Rather fight Thread than people.” That was not what dragon riders were meant to be about. They were meant to keep everyone safe from the threat not be treating like they were the enemy.

“I completely agree. At least we know how to handle Thread.” People were a different story. You could never guess a person's true intentions. Thread didn't play favorites.

“I know how to handle you.” He whispered in her ear squeezing her waist before he held out his hand intent on going inside. It might not have been how he wanted the night to go so far but it felt so much more perfect.

“Is that so, bronze rider?” She asked, raising a brow before giggling. She accepted his hand to head inside. It would be nice to spend the rest of the evening with him.
