Mission: 3531 AL
Location: RCW
Timeline: M3 D1

Analees yawned a bit as she walked back to the weyr. she really enjoyed her Harper lessons and having the chance of a real future but today she was tired. More so than normal.

She stepped into the weyr and decided on a quick bath before stopping for a few moments. Rosan would still be down at the crèche for a bit, so she had some time. Although she wasn't sure where V'ros was at the moment.

V’ros was already in the bathing pool having been for a run before the sun was too high in the ski. He turned at the noise and smiled at the sight that greeted him. Naedeth had said nothing as he was sunny himself in the bowl keeping an eye on the Weyrlings. “Hey Ana.” He whispered, scrubbing the sweetsand through his hair.

The woman looked up quickly, a smile touching her lips. How she had missed him slip into the bathing pool she had no idea. “Hey handsome,” she answered, walking over to the edge. “Didn't even hear you come in.”

“I did not know you were here either.” The man said quietly as he smiled. “I thought you were with Halia all day?” He thought he would have the day to himself as it was strange having the weyrling ready to change from juniors to seniors and the seniors ready to become wing riders.

She nodded a bit as she sat on the edge of the bathing pool. “I was supposed to. I wasn't feeling real good this morning so I am going to meet her later,” Analees explained.

“You were tossing and turning a lot in the night.” He admitted moving to where she sat on the edge of the pool. He took in her pale appearance and smiled softly.”Pale but still beautiful.” He assured caressing a thumb along her cheek.

“Sorry,” she apologized, closing her eyes at his gentle touch. “Not sure what is wrong with me today.” She managed a tired smile for him though not wanting to worry anyone.

“I was awake as I have my own worries for the Weyrlings.” He assured her quickly. He had been awake so she had not disturbed his sleep at all, he had done that all on his own. He lifted his hand to press against her forehead. “You are not feverish. If you are still like this tomorrow better go to healers.” He instructed her.

That made her feel a little better. At least she hadn’t woke him up. “Oh how are the weyrlings doing?” she asked softly. Analees sighed softly, not liking that idea. “I guess you are right,” she finally agreed.

“I am mostly right.” The man said smugly. The self assured bronze rider showed through his attitude there and then for a moment before he nodded. “This week is a good sevenday. No deaths or injuries.” He said feeling happier than he had last sevenday when he had lost a blue rider in there first fall. The girl had been so needed and so young barely old enough to fly thread duty.

Analees made a face before smiling. He did usually know what he was talking about. “Oh good,” she said softly. She knew when the blue rider had died it had been awful and V'ros had been a mess for days.

V’ros knew that Weyrling groups could lose 25% of Weyrlings before they got to the wings but it did not make it easier for him sometimes. He shook that thought away trying to focus on his mate. “Come into the water?” He suggested standing up more just resisting the temptation to pick her up.

The dark haired woman nodded. “That sounds nice,” she agreed. She still wasn't feeling real well but getting into the warm water sounded like a great idea. She carefully pushed to her feet and got undressed. She soon joined him in the water.

He smiled and nodded quickly finishing up scrubbing after his run and waited for her to join him. He hated seeing her so unwell, there was so much that went around after a gather but he stk hated the idea of her unwell when she chased after Rosan and was learning about being a harper in some capacity.

Analees sighed softly as she slid into the warm water. She was still pale but the water was warming her up. “This is nice,” she admitted, looking over at her mate. “sorry if I scared you with not feeling well.”

“You always scare me when you are unwell. I worry it’ll be like firehead and we shall be separated.” V’ros commented softly stroking a piece of hair from her face. “I do not want to lose you ever.” He stated simply thinking of when she had to stay with Cathryn and T’mil.

She shivered at that thought. “I don't want that again. I thought I was going to lose you.” She had hated it. She hadn’t even been able to be close to him to help or nurse him back to health. Analees closed her eyes at his gentle touch.

“So that is why I worry. My life is worth nothing if you are not in it.” It was not just that fact that she being there allowed him to have his son there daily but he truly loved her. She healed him after his and Nerlyn’s toxic relationship and it made him a productive member of the Weyr.

Analees nodded in understanding. “I promise I'll go down to the infirmary tomorrow if I'm still not feeling well,” she said, shifting closer to him. “I don't want to be separated from you for anything.” He had helped her change for the better. Had showed her she could have a good life.

“Good I want to grow old with you Analees.” He stated simply pulling her close, hugging her against him for a moment before he picked up some sweet sand to start helping her clean up to see if that would help. He also knew she would go check in with the infirmary in the morning, she was not one to risk herself or anything.

“Never thought I would hear anyone say that,” she admitted. He had certainly changed her life. She closed her eyes at his gentle touch, relaxing into it

“I am not them. And I never thought I would be worthy of ever saying something like that.” He admitted taking a slow steadying breath. “After me and Nerlyn I never thought I would be worthy of anyone’s affections but you gave me hope and I worked harder for it.” It had been the hardest thing after weyrlinghood he had ever done.

She gave him a shaky smile. “And I never thought I could actually be loved,” she whispered. “For being me. It was always what everyone else wanted.” Even Marcus had used her although she had let him. She kissed his cheek. “Love you.”

“Love you more.” He assured as he picked up some sweetsand and started on her shoulders. How she ever thought she was not worthy was beyond him as he had fallen for her the moment he had met her in the bowl.

Analees closed her eyes as he started massaging her shoulders. It felt wonderful and she slowly started to relax. “That feels wonderful.”

“It is meant to. Massages are something riders know how to do well. After fall it’s sometimes the only thing we need after riding a dragon for that long” He admitted thinking of fall and the candlemarks on Naedeth. It was one of the basic skills that they picked up to help themselves and wing mates.

“I hadn't considered that,” she admitted softly. “I know you come back exhausted.” The riders definitely learned more skills than she ever realized. Of course she never knew much about the dragon riders.

“Hard work tracking 30 Weyrlings and making sure they are on track as well as yourself.” He said quietly thinking of his role in threadfall with the senior Weyrlings and their learning. It was a long day as they fed the Firestone early and the maintained the reminder so it was ingrained in them. Thankfully Neadeth was good at giving the order regularly to check their bags now

“That is a lot,” Analees said quietly. “No wonder you have a nice body,” she teased, still not feeling well but wanting to make him smile.

“Just nice? Will have to work harder to be irresistible.” He said kissing her shoulder gently. “Duck under the water and get your head well An.” He promoted deciding to give her a head massage too. It had always worked when he had headaches.

Analees laughed softly. “It's just my addled head that isn't letting me realize what a prize I have,” she smiled. She obeyed, ducking under the warm water. She closed her eyes, enjoying the warmth and the attention.

He smiled gently as he silently set about digging his fingers into her head hoping to help with some of the stresses that she felt. He reached over grabbing up the sweet sand to scrub deeper.

“Mmm,” she mumbled. She hadn’t really expected that to feel good but it did. Analees closed her eyes, letting V'ros work his wonder ngers. fingers

V’ros took her mumbling as a sign that she was enjoying what he was doing. He had never thought he was good at looking after people until he became an part of the weyrlingmaster team but any attempt outside of weyrlings had ended in disaster until now.

Analees sank deeper into the water. As long as she concentrated on what V'ros was doing she didn't feel as terrible. If she thought about anything else she started feeling sick.

The man just carried on. It was the least that he could do aftercare she had shown him over the years. “After this you are going to bed.” He told her softly. He was not taking no for an answer either.

The dark haired woman frowned but nodded. “Okay,” she said softly. She wanted to argue but she really didn't feel that well. Bed actually sounded like a very good idea.

“I will grab Rosan from the creche for lunch.” He said smiling that she did not argue. She normally argued and there was a back and forth but it was always a relief when she took her health paramount. “Just rest. And get better.” He requested softly.

“He'll be excited to see you,” she commented as it was usually her that got their son from the crèche. “I'll do my best,” she promised. Hopefully she just needed some rest.

He smiled at her phrasing and nodded. “And your best is all I want.” The bronze rider assured as he quietly finished scrubbing her hair with a flourish stepping away. The best of anyone is all he ever wanted.
