Falayna toddled into the weyr in front of her mother. The little girl looked around for her father, smiling when she saw Caladoth. “Cal!” She cried happily at the bronze. The little girl loved the bronze and if she couldn't find her father then Caladoth would suffice for a little bit.

The bronze dragon turned his head at his riders dragonets exclaiming of his name. He lowered himself slowly to the girl. }: Your dragonet is home :{ The bronze informed his rider making the man look up from going over the final plans for sweep the next day. He smiled, having thought he had another candlemark or so but it meant it was time for him to leave his office and head home. He arrived a few moments later still wearing flight gear but he did not look quite as annoyed as he had after speaking to A’ren.

Falayna smiled as she moved over to hug the bronze's snout. She loved the dragon almost as much as her family. “Cal,” she chirped again.

Milayna had been a few steps behind her and smiled as she watched her daughter. She knew the girl was safe with Caladoth.

The dragon snorted out of his snout but kept perfectly still knowing that the girl was not F’cone and was much tiner. F’cone came in and smiled at the sight of his daughter hugging the huge bronze. “Good afternoon.” He greeted.

Milayna turned and before she could say anything Falayna had darted across the weyr and pounced. “Daddy!” She cried.

The man easily picked her up and flung her in the air. “Hello my little dragonet.” He greeted her, leaning over to scratch Caladoth’s eye ridges in greeting him too.

Falayna giggled and spread her arms like she was flying. “Flying!” She giggled again.

Milayna shook her head with a laugh. “She is definitely your daughter,” she smiled.

“Someone has to like me,” He gave Falayna a kiss on her cheek before putting her down on the floor. “Everyone inside Cal needs to rest before night sweep.” He said glancing back at the dragon.

Falayna smiled again at her father. “Bye Cal,” she waved.

Milayna shook her head. “Well, I think I kind of like you,” she teased the bronze rider. Mian ignored them as he was sat at a table drawing.

“You think? I will have to stop trying so hard.” He laughed a little as he nudged her. “Hello Mian.” The man greeted the boy leaning to ruffle his hair and get a glance at what he was drawing. The boy was always drawing or reading which was great for see.

Milayna wrinkled her nose but laughed. It felt good to laugh and be settled again.

Mian looked up from his drawing. “Hello dad,” he answered cheerily.

“What are you drawing?” The man wondered trying to give him some of his focus as he always felt like the boy did not get enough of him as his interest lay elsewhere.

“The dolphins and dragons,” Mian answered, turning the hide around for F'cone to see.

“just dragons,” Falayna said matter of factly.

“The dolphins are just important. We can’t go out to sea without their advice.” F’cone said smiling. “Have you considered apprenticeship with the dolphineers?” F’cone wondered honestly. The boy was nearly old enough to considered apprenticeship opens.

Mian looked up at his father in surprise. “I can do that?” The boy asked.

Milayna pressed her lips together. How had Mian gotten old enough to be able to think about apprenticing?

“Any craft would be lucky to have you.” F’cone said smiling before he glanced to Milayna and saw her looking strained. He walked over and put an arm around you. “You and your mum can apprentice together.” He teased softly.

Mian grinned broadly. “I would like to be with the dolphins.”

Milayna leaned against F'cone. “Thanks,” she groaned. “I am sure Mian will learn a lot faster then I have been.”

“Then we will talk to Nerlyn and Master Jameas.” F’cone assured and pressed a kiss to the woman’s temple. This was nicer than fighting with that Weyrleader. He was still sore about it but this was soothing it.

“Oh thank you,” Mian exclaimed while Falayna rolled her eyes. She was all dragon kid that was for sure.

Milayna smiled up at F’cone. “Do you have any other duties today?” she asked curiously.

He smiled at Mian. He would organise it soon. “Sweep With K’ron’s wing as he had gone with Lana north.” F’cone admitted. “I should be a couple of candlemarks,” it was not far. It was just a weather sweep from the islands back.” It was his favourite sweep in all honesty as it was refreshing.

Milayna nodded. She had heard F'cone mention about K'ron going north but she hadn’t really asked anything about it. “That doesn't sound too bad,” she answered.

“Fun!” Falayna giggled. “Sweeps, fly far.”

F’cone nodded. “Fly far and then home again. So yes it should be okay.” He smiled squeezing Mian’s shoulders picking up a piece of fruit from the basket.

“I go! I fly far,” Falayna said matter of factly.

Mian smiled at his father. The boy didn't remember anything about Anious so F'cone was his only father.

Milayna shook her head. “You little one have to he patient,” she laughed at Falayna.

“You cannot come on sweep Falayna. Sorry.” F’cone smiled fondly much like Milayna he wished for her to be more patient.

Falayna wrinkled her tiny nose. “Why?” The little girl demanded. She has started into the asking why over everything stage.

Milayna shook her head, hiding a smile. she had no doubt the little girl would be a rider in the future. re.

“Because unfortunately the Weyrleaders wouldn’t like that but also I would not take you to fight thread now would I?” He said crouching in front of her as he ripped apart the fruit and offered her half.

Falayna took the offered fruit but still wasn't happy. “No fight Thread. Just fly,” she said, staring her father down. She just wanted to be in the air.

“Still can’t dragonet. Dragonriders honour I’ll take you flying when I can soon though.” F’cone pressed a kiss to her forehead. He knew the girl loved flying but would only take her when it was safe to do so.

The little girl grumbled but finally nodded. “Okay. Go fly later,” she answered. She wasn't likely to forget.

Milayna chuckled a bit. “You know she'll hold you to that,” she smiled.

The man smiled and smirked a little as he stood back up. “Dragonriders honour means something Mil. I promised you that once and I have not broken it. I won’t break it to her either.” He said biting into his piece of fruit sitting down heavily.

Falayna walked off to munch on her own piece of fruit. Milayna smiled at her mate. “I know it does,” she assured him. “and I know you wouldn't break it.”

He nodded at her and smiled. He was tired but there was no time to properly rest before sweeps so just sitting there savouring the time with his mate and children would have to be enough until he could sleep that night. “Don’t wake up tonight Mil.” He advised wishing he could be back wary but he was sure that he would not.

She looked over at him in surprise. “You're going to be that late?” She asked softly. She knew him filling in was very important, she just hadn't realized he was putting in another late night.

“Maybe. I do not know. I do not know the wing. It’s should be 3 candlemarks but..” He said with a shrug.”I hope to be back just after sunset but I also do not want you waiting up if it is that late.” He said trying to soothe any tension that might start.

Milayna slowly nodded. That made sense. It wasn't his wing so he would have to rely a lot on the wing. “Okay just be careful,” she said, moving to sit down next to him.

“Always am,” F’cone said quietly as he opened his arm for her to come sit against as he watched Mian return to his drawing, Filayna tidied up her side of the bedroom and Caladoth snoozed on his couch out in his weyr. This is what life was all about.
